The tolerances are always tight when you go full custom . Looking good Nathan.

I made some decent progress today!

    Lower shock tabs.

    Photo Nov 28, 12 31 28 PM.jpg

I cut a piece of PVC to the correct compressed length to give me an idea of where to cut inner fender.

    Photo Nov 28, 1 20 24 PM.jpg

    Photo Nov 28, 1 20 28 PM.jpg

After tacking the shock tabs in I made the first cut on the inner fender and put the strut in place.

    Photo Nov 28, 1 32 26 PM.jpg

    Photo Nov 28, 1 42 47 PM.jpg

The strut needed to push out a bit more for the upper mount so I added to my fender cut. This wasn't the final position of the hoop or mount as the initial placement had the strut nearly touching the frame at full droop. Nearly as in a 1/16" or less.

    Photo Nov 28, 3 35 46 PM.jpg

    Photo Nov 28, 3 36 04 PM.jpg

Fully drooped out. The rotor looks to be touching the ground, but isn't.

    Photo Nov 28, 4 36 17 PM.jpg

    Photo Nov 28, 4 36 57 PM.jpg

Here's where the hoop and upper mount ended up. The strut is more centered and the overall alignment is better.

    Photo Nov 28, 8 50 22 PM.jpg

And while I was at it I started on my skid and cross member. It's funny what gets reused. That's my old crawlbox support that I hacked up and turned around. I'll get back to that and the other strut mount tomorrow.

I managed to get the driver side hoop and ORI in place today. I started on the cross member as well. So far I'm going to piece it together out of scrap and then bend one piece to match.

Oh, and there's no way I'm going to be able to keep my inner fenders, firewall, fenders, etc.

ive heard of using 3/16th inch UHMW-PE as fender liners on rally cars, if you really wanted to have liners. Also heard of using Horse stall mats, but those seem too thick..

I definitely have a lot of trimming to do, but that'll have to wait till I have the rest of the 3 link finished.

I have a new set of 2wd steel fenders ready to bolt on once the time comes.

why not make it symmetric? the pictures make it look like the passenger has a much lower angle (producing the longer am) than the driver side?

Are you going to add anymore bracing for the hoops other than the cross brace?

    Cause?

I would have put a 45 on both sides, but the intake is in the way.

Yup, lots more bracing to add before I'm done. This is just the bones.

No disconnects for the brace? I would definitely look into making it removable.

One step at a time. Building it solid and then cutting tube out for the coupler is a whole lot easier than trying to piece it together from the start.
