Thinking about putting a plow on my 14 dcsb 4 x 4 for just doing my driveway.

I see people running them up here in Vermont on Tacoma' , jeeps, rangers
Just curious to see if anyone on here is?

do you expect to drive the tacoma a lot, or just a bit

because if you start plowing with it...it's rough

best to buy an old ford f150 beater for plowing duties

tacoma is too nice to abuse like that

A good snow blower is a better investment, and will do a better job of clearing the snow.

A snow thrower attachment for your lawn tractor is even better.

Or just put it in four wheel drive until the snow melts.

That's pretty subjective and depends on what your situation is. My parents have a very, very long drive way so to do that with a snow blower would take hours. A plow can be a much more effective way to move snow as long as you have the space on the sides to shove it off. Also, with the snow we just got, good luck just 'throwing it in 4wd and waiting til it melts'

I live at a ski resort, so in the winter I wouldn't be able to take my own advice, but if you have a normal size driveway, a snow blower is probably the way to go.

They plow my road with a full size four wheel drive tractor with a 10 foot wide blade. A Tacoma, or any pick up truck, could never plow it. My driveway is a 30° pitch.

sure you are going to use it just for the driveway

but you know when a plow hits a small snag and kaBAM...every one of those stresses the bejeezjus out of the front end...tacoma can handle it sure but it won't stay tight nor retain highway handling for long if you make it a plow truck

have at it, plowing is both fun and sucks...but man a $30,000 small pickup as a plow truck ? I'd go buy a beater with a plow already attached for 8 grand or so

    ------------------------------------------------------
I'd go with a super lightweight composite plow like sno-way if putting on a tacoma. expensive but the lighter the better for all your front end and drivetrain components

In the meantime... be entertained by Crashy The Yaris
