So I bought used and modified

Well I bought a used tacoma a while back and it has been having problems. It’ll Run fine for about a week then randomly start missing even completely killing the truck at low rpms. I’m fixing to replace the fuel pump and have replaced about half a dozen sensors. I got to looking at it today and for some reason it has ford f1se-e9a injectors. The truck has a URD Tuning box in it so maybe some one replaced the performance injectors with a cheaper alternative at some point. I’m at a loss

What kind of tuning box specifically?

Does it have a supercharger, or no?

Have you checked the spark plugs?

Apologies on replying to this late. It sounds like you have the URD MAF sensor calibrator. This COULD be used to adjust non-stock injectors so that they'll work well enough.

Hopefully you've been able to figure the issue out in the tardy amount of time it took me to reply, but if not, we'd have to know several things before we can really start to figure out what's wrong...

Replacing spark plugs is a good idea.

When it "cuts out" what exactly is going on at the time? High ambient temps? Humid? Highway only?

Is there a supercharger and do you know if the ECU has been flashed with a performance tune?

Why someone would put the Ford injectors in I don't really understand. A supercharger would come with TRD injectors (orange colored) and if you don't have a supercharger, maybe someone was trying to save money, but then he'd have to buy the MAF calibrator to compensate. Can you ask the previous owner why it has the Ford injectors?

I think the important question here is, which engine is in your truck? 3RZ-FE, 5VZ-FE, 2TR-FE, or 1GR-FE.

 

did the 1grfe exist before 05?

 

Yes but in a 4th gen 4runner.

 

a shot gun approach will probably not work

U wont know what truly was wrong or what really worked = ' being at a loss '

the engine management unit may be reading the injectors wrong

a standard tune up
spark plugs
correct injectors
no vacuum leaks
ignition correct......... check All wires
