So I got my spring recall done...large tapered overload just fucked me

Got that shit done. Got my 5100 assembled (fuckin idiot set the spring 3/4 off the perch... I digress)
So I'm all excited to go home and install my wheeler's offroad progressive aal just to realize the new overload is fucking huge, length and width. 30" long to be exact and my aal is 33". I wanted the aal to be installed with the overload leaf but it can't now because of the different design of the recall leaf. The over load looks to be a substantial part of the pack
These pics are with about 300lbs in the bed
So...... What the fuck do I do now?

 

My understanding is that the AAL can go between the overload and the bottom leaf. I just did this same thing on Saturday. I did cut the rear bracket off the overload as the AAL bracket was in the same position.

 

Yeah I did some more soul searching on tw and found a pic of someone who has the same leaf as I do that kept the overload and just cut one of the rear clamps. I'm going to install tomorrow night hopefully so I'll post some pics and update

 

I had the same problem. I ground it off and the AAL installed perfectly. I did have to fab up some brackets for my parking brake lines though.

So.... Couldn't wait till tomorrow. Installed the aal and I fuckin love it. Rides way smoother. I didn't end up cutting anything just bent the overload bracket to fit over the aal bracket
My jack didn't reach the height I needed to slip the centering pin in so I just lay the axle on a block of wood and jacked the leaf pack
