Another great option that puts the KO2s to shame...

 

Have run a lot of KO2s- great tire, but last 2 sets have been Goodyear Duratracs and they are mean looking and perform awesome. Can't go wrong with either choice.

 

+1 for duratracs
-10 for KO2s

In the part of Texas I'm from snow is not a worry so my question is would the general grabber red letter be a good tire in a hotter drier situation. It does rain here though so wet traction is also important, anyone have experience with those?

 

I had them a while back.

Solid tire. Awesome off-road. Never had any issues during wet weather. I'm in socal so we don't really know what "weather" is lol.

 

I paid $196/tire at discount tire and got a $100 mail in rebate. Mount and balance included. Quiet, even at 80mph. Say what you want, I like em. As I said, there are many great tires out there. To each his own.

 

Hah. My last vehicle, a 2006 Merc ML350 came with Atturo AZ800 on it. Taiwan's "special." Those little puppies freaking rocked and totally changed my perception of "brand name" tires.

 

Every tire is a compromise in one way or another. IMO the KO2s are an excellent all purpose tire for daily driver off-roaders. They feel just at home doing unmentioned supercharged speeds down the interstate as they do being deflated crawling over sharp rocks in the Cascades. I've never had a tire handle the extreme opposites so well on both ends of the spectrum. And for those that do not know, the KO2 is nothing like the KO.

265/75R16. 285s are too heavy for me

 

That tire is a smaller tire that the quoted picture I posted.

Would explain the cheaper price.

I have the Terra Grappler G2s... the Ridge Grappler is new or I'd have em. Chunkier more aggressive tread.

 

How is the highway noise on them ?
