anytime you hold the steering wheel against the lock hard, even when not doing donuts, is bad. The power steering is still trying to push and the stop isnt allowing it. My sister had a saab and she was talking to a friend at the mall while holding pressure on the wheel and it blew a line. The oil was all over the place and hit the exhaust and caught fire. the fire burned through the radiator and when the coolant hit the oil fire spread it all over and the car burned to the ground. i was standing there pretty helpless...

Ever since then i wont even turn my wheels on dry pavement unless the truck is moving. Ex. when backing out a parking spot wheels cranked to the left...then i put in first and start rolling forward then turn to the right to drive on...

OP replace PS pump and youll be fine

Ok, so I seem to have killed my P/S pump doing donuts in the snow as well. The pump started screaming and I lost power assist. I got a reman pump from Advance and installed/bled the system last night. I works great for the first few minutes of a cold start, but after that only has assist above 1500 - 1750 RPM. Did I kill the rack as well?
