So my wife won the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes today...

Sort of...

We received a UPS package in the mail about 3 weeks ago with a priority postage paid return envelope, a letter telling us we were one of 2000 people who won $1,000 and there was an affidavit and a form for the IRS. Being skeptical, I checked out the mailing address, did a reverse look up on the phone number, called the phone number and spoke to the lady and it all panned out.

Not wanting to get a prank played on me, I waited until today to say anything because I thought it could be a joke, but the check came in and my wife cashed it. We didn't have to pay out a dime so it's not some Nigerian check scheme.

Since my wife's name was on the check, she said she's going to 'let' me get some timbrens and a u-bolt flip kit since I put the stupid stickers on the first mailing they sent us. WOOT!

The moral of this post... when PCH comes in the mail, put on the dumb stickers, send it in and you too could win. Too bad the amount didn't come with more zeros after the first digit...

Yeah it was pretty cool. I mean I have actually won several $5 McDonald's coupon books in the past, but nothing really over $5.

$1000 sure won't change my life, but it is a really neat thing to have happen. I wonder how much the IRS will want? LOL

The 4WD badge is on and looking sharp (especially with the removed 4x4 boat rudders removed ) but I'm waiting for this weekend for the rain to stop so I can clean up the truck and take pictures. Just the other day I realized that I've never really posted my truck photos before so I'll have to do that sometime this weekend. Too bad I didn't know about this forum 3+ years ago or I could have started a "my build" thread.

My big thing is getting the final alignment next Tuesday and then going to a ramp or hill somewhere to figure out how much the front still rubs. I'll bring a dremmel tool, a paint pen, a hammer and an extension chord and cut the fenders, bend the pinch weld and mark any other stuff that needs to be cut right there onsite. I've decided to wait until next Tuesday just to be 100% sure I need the timbrens (I'm 95% sure I do), but we'll see.

Well apparently they forgot to throw mine away. Maybe it has something to do with the haunting of Ed McMahon's ghost...
BTW, I didn't start this war to argue with someone who doesn't know what the hell they're talking about. My wife has $1000 in CASH in hand as of now and I'm stoked. The check was legit, and my bank account is in good condition (i.e. it's not $1k short due to a bad check)... what more can I say?
