Tow it... no sense causing anymore damage to anything.

The next problem is where to tow it to... find a shop to repair it first, then tow it there. Good luck!

Definitely tow it...When I was real young and dumb I drove a truck a ways with punctured radiator. In the end that decision cost me a hell of a lot more than a tow truck.

call a toyota dealership and see who they recommend for a shop. Dealerships hope to get good used cars and will usually recommend good shops.

In true Atlanta fashion my dealership gave me the card of a body shop they use exclusively because they said we want to buy my truck back when the time comes. Jokes on them because i plan on running it to the ground 200k or more

My ankle doesn't hurt as much, now. Sorry, Bro. I hope you win the Powerball, next week and your woman finally agrees to page 214 of the Kama Sutra. Godspeed.

    Thanks man!

Been a busy morning but, spoke with their adjuster, super nice guy, apologetic and affirmation they're ready to make everything right. Told me to have it towed by who I want, to where I want and estimated by them and give them the claim number and they're taking care of everything. If there's a silver lining I guess it IS that the driver had the honesty to turn his information in to our security. Doesn't hurt that semi's weren't supposed to be in that lot and there's video footage either I suppose lol. But thankful at least everything is smooth on that end, it removes the stress from dealing with the other party at least.

Appreciate all the advice, as an update, I narrowed it down to 3 collision centers this morning. Then I was torn between 1 that seems to be the highest rated consistently, locally owned and operated, wins awards yearly for customer satisfaction and quality - and the other which is actually a part of a local Toyota dealership (not the one I purchased from) who is the only Toyota factory certified collision center even close to town and guarantees 100% use of Toyota parts, Toyota trained techs etc., was torn between the more craftsmanship oriented place and the Toyota backed one, but I think I'm going to go with the one certified and backed by Toyota just to be safe. I spoke with them for about 20 minutes this morning asking them to describe their process ('forensics' teardown, frame laser etc). I just wanted to feel comfortable that they would be thorough. They're generally well reviewed as well, but honestly it seems a crapshoot here as there is no standout body shop that is 'the one' everyone uses. I guess I would say I envy others who do have like a top notch shop to use, but I guess I feel fortunate that I haven't had to deal with one in like 15 years so I'm completely out of the loop lol.

Currently awaiting the tow truck to call me so I can meet him there with the keys to get it loaded on the flatbed and delivered to the collision center. Then I get to deal with the whole picking up my rental process etc later this evening or tomorrow morning depending on the wifes schedule. Not how I wanted to spend my weekend but it is what it is now. Waiting on my surgeon to call back today with my consultation to set up the knee surgery next :crapstorm:

Yeah but that sr5 grill is still mint! Just be glad you didn't have one of those Chinese knock off pro grills. You would be down another $150.

Sorry. Always have to find the positives.

At body shop, preliminary estimate is right under $9k. Sickening for me being as it’s only like 8 months old, if that. But that’s it to this point, pretty much a waiting game on when it will be done. Radiator support area and so on also damaged, but other than that mainly appears to be cosmetic. Shop has been great with pics of the tear down and updates. Will go on their frame machine this week to be laser scanned to make sure everything’s good. A lot of the mechanicals in the front end are being gone over with a fine tooth comb,

I’m ocd as hell about my vehicles so I’m trying to get the tainted feeling out of my mindset, I swear that’s the hardest part. Lol.

Pass on the sport hood. My 4runner has a scoop and it often reflects the sun off the contour of the scoop right into my eyes. Plus its not functioning anyway. I wish someone would make a small LED light bar for the scoop so it can at least do something.
