    Haha

Since I'm bored.... Here is what I think we ultimately see with my theory of retuning the 2GR-FSE curve for more truck-like delivery. Peak torque stays the same and you fill in the low RPM dip while sacrificing the high RPM power.

    2015-06-23%2011.12.39%20pm_zpse8t333te_09147dbda6a8ca69c8ae8c34075acfd0c09cd69a.jpg

That is it versus the current 1GR in the Taco. Basically the same power and torque delivery with all efficiency advantages of a smaller displacement and the wide angle VVTi.

We basically saw this exact thing play out with the 2015 WRX using a new DI 2.0L versus the STI using the old port injection 2.5L.

After reading this thread, it's clear people don't understand much of anything. I'm quite surprised they even figured out how to post.

    parts and stuff

just a quick question in the bolded. do u mean 240-250 ft-lbs? becuase the right side of the graph has torque and the left is HP. and if u are looking at the left side then the 200-210 is HP for what you posted. just gettin a clarification on what u posted above is all.

All of these graphs equate to what? So far I have seen people saying these graphs show it will get around 250 ft/lbs and some saying 280 ft/lbs.

I'm sure the torque output will be fine ffs. Since every Toyota truck engine from the last 30 years has made more torque than horsepower, I see no reason why torque shouldn't be at least 280, if not 300.

Oh, I just remember when in 1968 Dodge put the big block CAR motor, the 383 in the pickups and NO ONE complained it was a weak car motor in a full sized truck...

How much motor do we really need to crawl around the mall?

The growing trend is smaller motors that rev higher and have a larger hp number than a torque number. Ram 1500, F150(non-turbo) and Colorado V6's are all like this. I admire GMC for a keeping a good quality torquey 4.3L V6 in the 1500's (285hp/305lb/ft). All of the new smaller V6's(that aren't turbo'd) have like 300hp and a wimpy 260-270lb/ft.
