Variable displacement is usually shutting off a few cylinders. The variable valve timing plays some role in that but I haven't looked into it very closely. I can tell you definitively that the Toyota system is not variable displacement, though.

I agree, didn't think it through. 70 lbs + each depending on moisture content. If it was presure treated I would think closer to 125 lbs - 150 lbs each and would have it delivered if possible.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
    Thats a cummins truck right?

Honda has the variable cylinder management aka VCM aka variable cylinder displacement. I read a lot of issues with it. In fact there's a class action lawsuit pending with Honda about the VCM. I'm concern that the new 2nd gen Ridgeline is getting a "newer" version of this setup. I hope it is better then the last version.

Nope. Not even close. We'll be lucky if this truck can make it to the store and back.

Given that Canadia is closer to the top of the Earth, Gravity doesn't have the affect is does in the states. 1500 Canadian pounds, is around 4000 American ones.

It's an Atkinson style engine, better fuel economy but more moving parts since so many people like to bitch and have horrible MPG Threads. Congrats they listened to the bitching and gave you your better MPG NOW YOU BITCH ABOUT LESS HORSEPOWER.

The total force of gravity pulling you down is higher in Canada than in the states. We are closer to the equator and have a higher centrifugal force which lowers gravities effect on us
