This is similar to Rav4 hybrid setup. For those that go to OBX that beach drive from route 12 to Carova is becoming to known as hybrid graveyard.
10 mile drive on the beach melts electric motors... BTW Toyota will not replace them under warranty because driving on the beach with Hybrid Rav4 (4wd) voids warranty. If you have old fashion Rav4 than you good. Its the same for other "4wd" hybrids.
How is that for amazing performance off road?

My point is hybrid setup Stardom dream off is already on Rav4. And even Toyota does not support this setup in Offroad.
Those Hybrids are melting in true Offroad. Tacoma with that setup would be street only vehicle so talking about ultimate offroad is silly..

BlueT, since you obviously hate the direction Toyota is going with the Tacoma why don't you just buy a Tundra? Sounds like that would be exactly what you want. Do you think Toyota gives two shits what you think? Is Toyota suddenly going to change the design of the Tacoma because a few people like you think it's horrible? You should tell them that putting a Highlander engine is a bad idea because it's not a "truck" engine. Explain to the Toyota engineers in detail why what they're doing is wrong and why you're correct. Make sure that you tell them the Tacoma needs the 4.7L V8 also.

We are all different in what we like & dont like. I never got into road racing or even oval Stuff (nascar) . Just boring to me !
The old muscle cars had to be set up for road racing. They did good at it if set up right.
We all bought them for stop light fun & the strip.
Now just to see a big block is rare. Back in the day almost everyone had one or had a pal that had one. Good times
