That would be an electric super charger. Mercedes uses them on some models

I kinda like it....looks mean to me. Not the tarted up broke back mountain king ranch versions tho'...they nailed it with the Raptor, and there has been a spy shot of FX4 floating around...which seems to have a little lift...more like a Tundra Pro.

Some reason the big grill works on the Ford, but not on the Yota.

lemme see, the 3.5 gets 420 ft/lbs of tq....gaaaad damn what will the 5.0 get? 600+?

I've never been a fan of this recent big grille trend in trucks over the last decade or so. If automakers are so worried about mpgs why arent they using more aerodynamic front ends like the late 90's and early 2000s trucks instead of the big brick look. In combo with today's technology, the more streamline body of the aforementioned trucks makes more sense, just look at the trucks everywhere else in the world... but Americans want big dumb looking trucks.

Out of the huge ass grills the F150 taint bad...

and I agree with ya, with the aero shit...if it were up to me we would get LC70's, not exactly aero...but no huge grill and subtle styling.

and look at her chassis...built to beat the shit out of, exhaust tucked up nice and high...and what do they do with the Taco...put the crossover pipe under the tranny...

I think the F-150 is the best looking truck out there! Strong body lines. Looks like a damn TRUCK. MURICA!

( I love the King Ranch interior. Not the chrome that comes along with it on the outside though.)

Ford did this right with the big grille.

    1. Its a big body truck. So the big grille is a tad more subtle.
    2. They offer plenty, PLENTY of models, even the notoriously chrome Lariat package with color keyed grille and bumpers.
    3. The design of the grille is big, with straight, strong lines for the filler, not a chromed out cheese grater.
    4. It is somewhat "flush" with the rest of the front end. It doesn't protrude like an overbite.

I think the new F150 looks ridiculous. The grille is enormous and continues the slats down into the separate front bumper. It is slab sided with straight lines everywhere except the wheel wells. The GM trucks look far, far better (before they fucked up the refresh a few weeks back).

Nice name! I spell mine Quinton.

I will never, never own a GM product. It doesn't make financial sense. I would drive a 2016 Tacoma and have an ugly truck before driving anything GM.

What I hate on new trucks is lack of clearance and air dams.

Which are removable. The only joke was GM when they put the screws in from the top making the air dam almost impossible to get off without taking the bumper off. Thank god they switched that. On my wifes F150 the screws are actually right on the front and there are only 5 of them. Doesn't take long to get rid of it. She decided to keep it because her truck sticks to gravel and highway.

Depends how you look at it. Most of the trucks at my work keep there air dam because they are doing deliveries on gravel roads and muddy yards. You need a truck for that because you need 4x4 and you need the payload capacity. Construction is much the same.

I think what you are saying is the trucks are being made less and less offraod capable right off the lot because less people actually need that feature, which I totally agree with.

I snapped the air dam off my Ram 2500 truck about 4 hours after taking delivery :D. I do field work though.

I am liking the specs on the diesel Colorado, but I dunno man....don't think I could spend my money on it...I am prolly better off importing a 25 year old LC70...and it will still out last the GM.
