Has Nissan actually confirmed the new Frontier coming to the USA? Last I heard things had went awfully quiet from Nissan about the Frontier.

I know Nissan tested a Diesel in the Frontier but nothing was ever officially announced and, for what's going on with the competition, Nissan has been very slow to reply with any announcements in regards to the Frontier.

I think Toyota will pull their head out soon and update the Tundra 5.7. The Titan may just steal some of their thunder as well with the Cummins 5.0.

That new Titan is more of a heavy half than anything else. I could see it selling very well to the oil field and construction industries but only if it can hold up a hell of a lot better than the last Titan.

I've read things from the Diesel mags, Truck Trend and others that have me thinking they will. I hope so.

Check out this link on the 2.8L Cummins.

I know they have tested one. But they may have trouble getting it to meet emissions standards. Look at Mazda with the Mazda 6. They were supposed to have a diesel option for north america
I wonder how good the non diesel Titan will be. The HD will be the most expensive models with the Cummins. They haven't mentioned much about the V8 and V6 models.

I view that as a cheap way of making a "new" truck. That is garbage. Even if it is better.

Ford: "Hey, check this out! We did a modest redesign, new front end, new cab, new bed AND made out of aluminum. Oh and by the way, it has new tech on the motor, transmission, and interior electronics. We're also trying out this new 'auto reverse trailer' feature."

Toyota: "uh, cool. We made the same truck out of a different mix of metallurgy, and added more plastic to the inside. We have a new motor, but it isn't really fancy, and probably wont get any better fuel economy. WE DID SLAP LI'L WAYNES MOUTH ON THE FRONT THOUGH! LOOK."

To avoid obvious flaming, the 'Auto reverse trailer' feature is pretty dumb in my opinion...but I mentioned it because, shit, at least they are TRYING.

Yeah, heavy half, and probably more suited to the weekend warriors. Too many people buy more truck than they need, including myself, and this will be a good fit for a lot of folks. The Cummins alone will have people buying them.

Non diesel Titan gets the old gas engine. Which worries me because maybe it gets some of the other old Titan parts. That truck was a disaster.

Cab on the new Ford is the same, just made out of aluminum with some changes the the accents and window frames. The back seat on a 2014 looks exactly the same as a 2015, much like the 2015 and 2016 Tacoma.

    Just saying.

Have they updated that old V8? There hasn't been too much info about the new truck except for the Diesel. Seems like Nissan is targeting a niche in the market.

Yes, but it was redesigned with certain functions in mind. Like the front windows now being more comfortable.

The cab is also changed if you look at the body lines on the rear of it.

No, it is not pretty much the same engine. The valve timing operation and ranges are fundamentally different. That completely changes the character of the engine.

    https://www.google.com/search?q=201...ch&q=2016+tacoma+engine&imgrc=9OHpElVHehQzoM:

See those black triangles on the top of the timing chain cover? Those are the new style oil control valves that you'll find on the NX200t intake VVT. Those are used for the wide angle VVT. All variants of 2GR had the old spool style (2 position only) before this Tacoma. The NX200t has the spool style still on the exhaust side VVT. It was basically a transition between the old spool and the new style. The UR V8 has an electronically controlled valve so it is more precise and faster to act. That is Lexus only, though.
