I had this over at the Tundra forum, but then I got banned..Oops, too many postings in a short period of time (I was tryna hit 50 to sell something!)

I've had a couple different builds on TW before. My 2nd Gen, 3rd Gen, and even my last Ram 2500. After the 2500, I decided it was time to go back to Toyota and this time scooped up a super rare Tundra!

This is a 2010 Tundra 5.7L V8 4x4 with only 27k miles on the odometer! Flew from California to Knoxville, TN to get it. Worth it!

This build thread will be super fun and unique. There aren't many of these trucks in this condition left, so I'm going to keep it as OEM+ as I can.

    Previous builds:

    2018 Ram 2500 6.7L

    2019 Toyota Tacom TRD Off-Road

I saw your YouTube video super jelly did you sell the ram? How did you like it or not like it? I’m seriously considering a rebel 2500 diesel but I dunno if it’s worth the 80k price tag what are your thoughts?

Yeah I sold the Ram. Super awesome truck, but unless you tow, kind of pointless. I personally wouldn't buy a newer diesel. If I did it again I'd buy something pre-def with no emissions stuff.

Finally got the headlights that Morimoto sent out on the truck! Super pumped to be working with them again!

Also got the wheel situation sorted. Ended up finding a set of TRD Rock Warrior wheels.

Removing the faux beadlock rings was not an easy feat. 46 out of the 48 came out relatively smoothly - Then I reached the last 2. I snapped 3 Torx bits, broke tools, and ended up using a torch, PB blaster, and some of the strongest T30 bits out there.

I'll be powder coating the wheels "Volk Bronze" and the rings Satin Black.

I love my morimotos, they totally changed the look of the truck. The amber DRLs are way more visible than my stock SR5 ones also.

Agreed! I do think the light output is pretty mediocre on these ones, and the LED's in the reflectors definitely scatter light up...

But they are 2x better than stock and the DRL's are SUHWEET!

Yep that’s 100% accurate for the Tacoma ones as well. It looks like they’re reflecting shattered glass on the pavement and my diode dynamics fog lights are much brighter.

I don’t drive much at night so it doesn’t matter to me but I do think the OEM headlights are better for nighttime driving.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I was hoping the Morimotos were brighter than the oem headlights when I got them from a buddy for my Taco. Nope I got to run them on hi-beam to see anything. I do think they look badass though.

I just watched your vid on the XB for the Tundra. I have the same RCSB, and would love to get something else. Probably go with the XB in Amber and run them with a set of BD fogs.

I live in the middle of the forest and lighting is key. I just never got into retrofitting the stock housing, would prefer to just buy them.

Yep, couldn’t have said it better myself. I do need to raise the beams on mine a bit but they just don’t throw light as far as the OEM headlights even when aimed properly.

Not even close. Sometimes I’ll just aim them at the ground for the low beam and run them in high beam mode :D Since I can aim them on my dash, it’s easy to do it!

Spent some time with @Shmellmopwho … Coastal offroad bumper tacked up. Then adding a Warn Evo 10 winch and 30” Baja Designs 30” to top it off!

Thanks @Shmellmopwho for all the help!

Got a ton of the parts in. TC uppers still need a different set of upper misalignments and thru bolt, but everything else is golden. Skids and winch next. Then sliders from the OG slider maker of TW!! Couldn’t do it without Ryan’s help and also thanks to Sean @ Kaizen for noticing the small details I missed.

RCI skids installed last weekend! Also got the switch panel engine bay part done. Now looking at the next steps…winch and lights whenever I can get a hand!

Also picked up the new badlands jack for myself, love it! So much reach!!
