    Hi everyone!

Seeing all of these 4th gen news/posts made me want to post a random recap/thread about my life haha
I honestly find myself randomly appreciating and being grateful for my Taco (God bless, life is good!)
i'm not a big fan of the 4th gen taco except for the interior (i'd rather sell my taco for a 4runner instead)

My partner and I left our friends & family behind in SoCal and purchased a house in Houston, Tx in April 2022.

Sold my semi-new BRZ to get a Tacoma to tow a 5x8' UHaul trailer (UHaul truck ~$4500 vs trailer ~$900 during the pandemic).
1500+ miles or 21h non-stop, but we took our time and arrived in 36 hours.
I did not add any performance or engine upgrades, so i was concerned about all of the potential issues (overheating, flat tire, etc) but the Taco handled the trip like a champ :)

I found a new job with hybrid work setting, so i felt bad leaving my partner at home (fully remote) without a car 2-3 days out of the week.
With the $7500 tax credit, and my company giving $4000 reimbursement for buying an EV, i got a standard range model 3 earlier this year.
Model 3 is my daily driver and i love it, but it ain't no Taco ;)

anyways, have a nice day yall ;)

Lots of great eateries in Houston. Also, buy a case of this for the six month long summer sunsets and evenings:

    "Turn Around Don't Drown"

In Phoenix there is the "Stupid Driver" Law. If you ignore the traffic barriers during monsoons and your car/truck needs to be rescued from 5 ft deep water, they can charge you up to $2500 of the recovery costs.

OP, welcome! I've spent most of my life in the greater Houston area and it's a great place to live.

    That would be Austin!

Don't worry about that - I've been married for 47 years (to the same young lady!), and she is still my girl/girlfriend and always will be.
Welcome to the area! After 26 years in Silicon Valley, we moved back home to Southwest Louisiana two years ago. People in this area (Tx & La) are really nice and friendly and great to be around. Be sure to come visit us on this side of the Sabine, but be careful if you visit the casinos - they really love to keep (all) your money.

hahaha that's cool! and thank you sir!

i realized that i felt like a kid when i was addressing her as my 'girl' - so i started replacing the word with partner :p

I've been to Lake charles a few times already to stretch the Taco's legs and came back a few hundred dollars lighter :p
