How many LEDs to change the background color for the gear indicator for automatics in the instrument cluster? Not the green selector color but the amber background color that is always on.

If you're taking about just the background section behind the shifter indicators, there is only one just for the indicator background...all together just background there are 11

Would you prefer your LED way over the old school way of re-applying the stick and such?

Changed my gauges to White LEDs. Looks 100% better:

Changed the signals to a better Green:

Added some new switches (Trunk Monkey controls my garage door) and changed my rear locker/fog light/steering wheel controls to White LEDs:

The white is not overwhelming at all, it looks just like my Camry did.

I keep getting one step closer with every gauge I see that's been converted but I usually always have a problem when modding and don't know if I wanna risk my gauge cluster, lol. Maybe if I saw a video on how its done...

Took the plunge! Just ordered all white leds for the gauges and green for the needles and turn signals. Having a friend who is a certified diesel mechanic help me put on my lift this weekend and were gonna tackle this also. Any tips? And for the needles, is there an amber/red coloring to them that I need to strip for the green to show through? If so, how? Thanks!

lol ya you need to remove the paint with nail polish remover from the back end of the needles and either leave them clear or paint them (in your case green) so they show thru
