the reason you made contact with those areas of the wheel well is because of your body mounts. when you make an impact like that, your body mounts compress, and you body actually move closer to the frame. When you get an engine cage, you should tie it to your firewall so your engine compartment is one with the rest of the truck.

his is more of a shock tower brace that connects both shock towers over the engine. Proper engine cage should replace and tie into all major portions of the core support and the frame so there's no flex.

Cab cage should ideally tie into the engine cage and bed cage, and be welded to your cab and core support, so nothing is moving independent of each other.

What I have is more like a strut bar like the import tuners have. When I eventually cage my truck i should do an engine cage at the same time.

No kidding! But now I learn how to repair fiberglass and probably paint it myself.

I took Monday off in advance just in case. :)

It's not fixed yet... I'm a total noob at fiberglass and rattle cans suck ass on big jobs... But hopefully I'll be primer'd up by tonight so I don't have to roll with out fenders tomorrow.

I Like the way you plan

That they do. I have rattle canned an entire car (more then once) and it doesn't look have bad but you waste a ton if you want it to look good.

It wasn't in the container I bought. They gave me another one. I put the bondo on the fender and stopped for the night.
