I am a touring roadie. I setup, tech and direct live rock & roll shows.

This is who I work for:

    ChaosVisual.com

We mainly provide Video/LED for tours world wide. I am classified as a LED Technician, Catalyst Operator and Video Director. Currently I am working with Guns & Roses. I have worked with them since late 2009. I have also worked for Blink 182, Sade, ZZ Top and many others.

Ran over to KR for some more gear earlier this week:

Had him build me a box in the bedcage. Its surprisingly difficult to find a box that fits there...

I still havent painted the sliders and it looks like rain today...

^ that KR swag looks sick! I've measured my bed saver cage and I found that any 36" wide or less box will fit.

You are correct. Mine was 36.5" up top but it gets down to 36" at the frame. I spent way less having KR fab one up than just buying one. And I got the dimensions i needed. I'm very happy with KR's work.

I had to buy a whole sheet of 1/8 for $150 but he only used about half. He had all the parts cut up and ready to go when I got there. After that it took him about 2-3 hours at his normal rate. I bet if you sourced your own steel it will be even cheaper.

All the boxes I found were in the $400-500 range. I dont like ordering dimension specific parts from online vendors. I'd rather take the truck to their shop for test fitting. Other than that, Amazon FTW.

I walked away with the remainder of my sheet steel for future projects.

I had Kenny help me with an idea of mine last time I was up there. This shelf is completely bolt on and attaches to the stock bed side bolts.

Oh and I have an appointment with DMZ this Monday... :D

I hand sketched the parts and he cut and welded them together. I don't have the templates anymore but anyone is welcome to copy the idea. I traced the Trifenix jack skid i had onto some spare steel.

I've got pics around here somewhere... I'm running four duallys. Fogs on the outside and spots on the inside. Eventually I'm going to put a 30" bar between them. Just can't decide what I want and I keep finding other things to spend money on. :spy:
