I'm off the next two weeks on PFL anyway due to our son. After that it's back to the field whether this whole thing is over with or not.

Wife just went back to work (physical therapist) and pretty much everyone is cancelling appointments. I assume its just a matter of time until they close doors for a bit, usually she sees 16 patients a day, and she only had 1 today. I think the only reason it's not closed down is because it's attached to a hospital that has to stay open anyway. If they close, I just hope it's with pay.

Your right Grocery stores will be open but......... In three weeks (if not now) all those bar peeps (including myself) won't be able to go out and drink. Wonder were they're going to get their fix. Just a thought. I never thought TP would run out either!.

All of our bars are closed now in Los Angeles County as of yesterday....right before St Patty's day too. But it was a smart move tbh, considering how many people who don't normally go out to bars usually end up doing so on St. Patty's Day. Would've probably seen a huge spike in CV19 cases afterward if they hadn't closed them before then.

Bevmo, smart n final, Costco, Sam's, liquor stores will be last to close if anything. Way more grocery stores than bars. More options than toilet paper.
I stock more beer and liquor than I can drink in a month.

My only iffy moment is the fact that I'm supposed to be flying to Wisconsin (from Florida) for training on a new machine here at the end of the month, and each way there is at least one stop. I'm just kinda hoping the flights get cancelled as I don't want to make it somewhere and then something happens and I get stuck in a different state. I hate flying anyways, cause I'm a big baby....haha.

My wife and I bought tickets to fly from SoCal up to Redmond, Oregon this coming May to visit my brother, sister in law and my 1 year old niece. We have our 3 month old daughter coming along too.

Wanted to book them now because flights are cheap, understandably. And most airlines are offering either the ability to cancel without penalty or the ability to reschedule without penalty, due to the pandemic. If things haven't settled down by May, or have gotten considerably worse, then we'll just reschedule it for later in the year.

There are all sorts of sales and deals to capitalize on right now. If you have the expendable cash and job security it’s a good time to snag some deals.

Definitely. I'm fortunate that I am still able to go to work, our company won't close down unless forced to do so...and I don't see why they would be (corporate office for a clothing company). We don't deal with the public face to face and are pretty isolated in an industrial complex outside of LA.

My wife on the other hand, she owns two Pilates studios...one in Glendale and one in La Canada (both in LA County). LA mayor just announced yesterday that all fitness facilities in LA County are to be closed down, so she had to follow suit. It doesn't hurt her/us as much as it does her employees, which I really feel bad for. But it definitely impacts her as well, one of the studios wasn't doing so great lately to begin with.

I’m off work with no pay. Union carpenter and they shut down our site until at least April 7th. I will probably go on unemployment so I can get a little something. Lucky for my wife and I she is still WFH and we don’t live check to check. A lot of 400 guys on our site will be hurting from this.

I work at a concert arena here in town, our last show was on Friday. All shows are postponed until April 17 at the moment.

I was wondering the same, I used to be hourly at my job for the last 3 years but they moved me over to salary at the beginning of this year. My wife is a business owner with employees and told me that (at least here in CA) it's a lot more difficult to just 'stop' paying a salaried employee over an hourly one, if they are mandated to not come into work. That's not to say they can't, especially given the situation we're all in, but I imagine it's better right now to be salaried over hourly. It almost always is anyway, unless you're hourly and work a lot of overtime regularly.

I agree. Salary over hourly. I do work OT but that's time off collected. I feel very fortunate in this situation.
