My brother told me to make a build thread, even though I haven't done much. So heres my truck its an Xtra Cab with a 3.4L v6, and a 5 speed manual. And its gold with these weird decals on the side which are acceptable.:cookiemonster:
    Pics when I got it:
    13321845_10157023056765422_8271454234479660400_n.jpg 13325696_10157023056740422_3554551825459480275_n.jpg IMG_0632.jpg
So heres what I have done this week. I wanted to coat the frame in POR 15 before the winter and get most of the rust off the frame, even though it was replaced by the recall.
    IMG_0656.jpg
After I cleaned the frame and painted it, I cut my exhaust just because apparently it gives you better clearance off-road and I figured it wouldn't hurt much. I also cleaned and painted the skid plate under the gas tank.
    (Before)

    (After)
    IMG_0666.jpg
I decided to hold off coating it in marine grease until I was done with the bed. The bed isn't in bad shape other then a bit of rust and a couple dents and a rusty fender.
    IMG_0662.jpg
I wire brushed the paint off and cleaned it as much as I could and coated it in paint because I didn't feel like dealing with it that night, and I didn't have any sheet metal.
    IMG_0663.jpg
    IMG_0664.jpg
This rust spot looked the worst before I wire brushed it and I think its the worst of what I have to deal with which is good because something similar happened to my brothers bed so I kinda know what I'm gonna be working with.
    IMG_0665.jpg
I also removed those nerf bar slider things Ill get a pic later without em. Once Im done patching up the bed and having that where I want it I am going to tackle the interior, gonna take most of it apart, clean it, and patch the rust hole in the passenger side floor.

thanks man, yea the manual is nice with the v6. But autos aren't all that bad especially for climbing and crawling.

Most of the decal was above the paint, but the small ones on the cab were under the clear coat, but you just use a hair dryer and start pealing at it, not to much heat or else it will get really stretchy and rip but just enough, and the stuff under the clear use a razor blade and be really careful pealing it up. And after your done pealing it up use some goof off and a rag to remove the adhesive.
