Not sure whats wrong with your truck. You sure you are doing a long press of TC button?

Once, Ive done "drifting" all the way to our cabin (10 mins or so) after ice fishing (was a forest road) and not once the TC or VSC kicked.

This other time i was doing donuts on a parking lot for a few minutes, again same thing. Not once TC or VSC kicked in.

Actually another time when were were going ice fishing and was about 1.5" feet of snow, I got stuck. I remember being very close to redline quite a few times, TC or VSC never kicked in. Im pretty positive the Owners Manual states that long press of TC button completely disables TC and VSC.

lol, it's definitely not something wrong with the truck. more likely something wrong with the driver.

get the truck going about 15-30mph, and get it REALLY sideways, maintain 20mph through, and full lock on the steering wheel--"inner colin mcrae" sideways. the light will come on. it doesn't come on with the steering wheel straight and engine revved, it comes on when the trucks steering sensor and intertial motion/rollover sensors start sending conflicting information.

Cant drift when the steering wheel is straight.

I was doing exact same thing you were doing. Truck sideways, steering wheel at full lock (left and right) and revving the engine to keep the "drift" going. No lights whatsoever.

Did you hold the TC button for at least 6 seconds while the truck was at a standstill?

Old vehicles pull spark when you hit the limiter but you can bounce off the limiter if you keep it buried. The throttle is still a cable so you get a reduced number of cylinders firing per revolution but you can maintain some power at the limit. Modern vehicles have throttle by wire so you can't actually keep it pegged - the system overrides so you don't bounce off the limiter and you drop too many RPMs. It's super bad in terrain with high resistance at a low speed like snow and sand where momentum is critical... it's the same reason you wouldn't shift a manual in those scenarios either.

VSC (vehicle stability control) is disabled after you push the traction control button 3s (aka long press). If it is using the brakes to stabilize the truck when you are drifting (excessive oversteer), you haven’t disabled it via the long press or something is wrong with your truck.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-traction-control-modes-explained.530695/

Personally I rarely look at the dash lights, but I know that when VSC is doing its thing that it is very obvious. I call it the “fun police”.

Hate to say it but a muffler and a throttle controller doesn't change the performance of a vehicle like that

Be patient guys, this is all stuff you will be able to purchase in a subscription once all vehicles go electric and everyone is connected to the DOT network.

I'm not a troll. I just don't see the correlation between an aftermarket muffler causing the engine to not cut out at redline

The only “noticeable” gains you’d get are from swapping out the insanely restrictive stock midpipe. These pedal commander guys need to chill

well proven at this point through dyno runs that a cat back exhaust on these dont really make more than a 5% hp gain high up in the rev range. lower end of chart is basically unchanged without any real losses or gains. and yes the tubing before the cat back is double walled and by far the biggest restriction in system. there and the "dump tubes" themselves are the only real exhaust mods that gain hp.

also throttle controllers are physically only capable of skewing the signal voltage from the gas pedal. nothing else. they can quite literally be replaced by just pressing the gas pedal more. or less.

seeing this dude ramble on trying to justify his mods was kinda hard to read. but if i had to give him the benefit of a doubt then maybe a rodent climbed up his stock exhaust and has made a nest up there thats causing restriction. nobody else has those issues with stock exhaust.

I had a guy in a trailer park tell me one time that you can override the rev limiter by stuffing the glove box full of Little Debbie oatmeal cream pies. Has something to do with the added weight to the right side of the truck and it causes the limiter to deactivate. Sure enough, I went to my local DG but they were out of LDOCP's. So, naturally, I went with the Swiss Rolls instead. Sure enough, when I stuffed the box with the rolls and peeled off down the highway in S1, I didn't have any problems. Point being, I could now take my truck To The Extreme with my boy Robert Van Winkle without the fear of hitting the limit , and, there is always a snack an arms length away.

I got catless dump tubes, cold air intake, and no muffler. I don't see a difference in power or anything of that matter.

If you're noticing power from a catback exhaust, I want what you're smoking

gotta ask. do you have the dump tube specific tune? without the specific tune the dump tubes actually lose power
