I would keep the "jumping" to a minimum. I am sure it'll be fine, we designed it with a safety factor but still. My bigger concern past our rating is the metal cleat rail bolted into the plastic bed side.

Any chance you have a photo of the mounting brackets without the bed bars attached?

Not at the moment. What exactly are you trying to figure out?

I was going through this thread and some of the photos here look like an earlier version compared to the photos on your website. I am curious how the bars attach to the mounts to see what the removal process involves, and to determine if I would want to take off the mounting brackets as well when I need to move larger items.

There is one bolt on each bracket that holds the bar on. There is one bolt on each bracket that holds the bracket to the bed rail. If you have a tonneau cover, I would leave the brackets and remove just the bar. If you don't have a tonneau cover, it's really the same either way. The brackets shouldn't be in the way for moving larger items unless the item hangs over the side of the bed.

Thanks for quick reply. I have a tri-fold cover on the truck now so I know I'd need to remove the bars, just trying to cover all the bases before pulling the trigger.
