Just bought and installed a softopper for xmas and absolutely love it. For those with a softopper looking for a 3rd brake light mod, here you go:
Bought a 2pack 12v flexible led light size 2x4.5 inches made by partsam on Amazon for $10. It had a 3M tape so we will see how it holds up before I have to use some silicone when it fails. Wiring is tapped at the rear brake light housing. Green/red is positive and white/black is negative on my 2005. I zipped tied along the rear softopper frame. Took about 45mins and works great.

This is sick! What webbing did you use for underneath?

Nice work. And when you want to fold or remove the softopper? Wonder if there's a way to put an easy disconnect near that area

Reviving this thread from the dead. I'm wanting to install a third brake light but want a quick disconnect to fold the topper down easily.

    Has anyone done this?

Should not be that hard to wire in a two wire connector of some sort. There are many out there. Not much current draw with LED lights.
