Looking to get either a @SOS CONCEPTS or @Datin Metal Fabrication softopper bed rack. Any insight on these? Different brand recommendation?

I know @Mobtown Offroad makes one but after seeing the reviews here it looks like it’s not 100% compatible with the softopper, still needs end user modifications.

    thanks!

I would just like the clarify in the other review thread the complaints were mounting holes, bar too short, and no instructions.

    • The mounting hole issue has since been remediated. It's now one long slot instead of two separate holes.
    • The bar too short wasn't a production error, it's designed that way. He mistakenly thought the extra 12" of camper seal was a metal bar but that's just something extra added to help better seal the bed.
    • The final thing is install instructions but that's being worked on. It is a fairly straightforward install.
If there are any other questions let me know. If you buy the rack from them, you won't have to make any modifications to it.

edit: and the one hole that isn't utilized at the end of the track. That hole is there for 2nd gens.

I have an SOS Concepts, but haven’t installed it yet. Been contemplating selling it; really want to get a hard shell.

I'm pretty sure they have one in stock too so there'd be a minimal lead time. I can check if you like.

I’ve looked for some time and pulled the trigger on mobtown earlier this month. @Mobtown Offroad @EatSleepTacos any info on additional add on’s like a way to mount a bike rack? Tube clamp with bars welded on to mount rocky mounts or something of that sort?

Hit up @Nimble9 and his new product. It may be able to work for you.

edit edit: to clarify having one in stock, they ran the parts for all the racks in the queue, to include yours, at once. They cut some extra parts and are currently processing all orders and then making some extra ones.

They do, it'd ship within a week, two tops. That's for raw though, unfortunately, powder adds a few weeks. They powder in the same building but it's a different company and that company is currently slammed/running a skeleton crew.

Do you want Aluminum or steel? What do you mean by center bar on top?

Look at the steel one. Also what is the option for t-nut and bolts? Is that the hardware to mount it to the bed rail?

Here is the picture of the bar. Thanks again for your help.

Yes all our racks come with 4 of those bars you circled to go in between each cross bar section on each side and all the cross bars are c-channel shaped like that now. The t-nuts and bolts is the hardware to mount to the factory rails, most people choose to source this themselves from Amazon or the like. For lead time you are looking at approx. 6 week lead time for the steel version. Powder coat can get done within that time frame typically too if you choose that option. Our PC guys have a week or less turn around time.
