He already reached out to me. @JDSmith If you're successful, let me know and I'll try at 802 Toyota.

I have the cable and the ability to do this for you... I was the first one to do this after the OP.

If you get tired of screwing around with the dealers, let me know and we can meet up.

Solid advice. @mstrbrc 's cable has three or four Tacos engraved on it? It needs the ace!

Just gave the dealer my truck and all of the info for a successful health check including all the ID numbers. Now we wait...

Well... They did it!!! Simply told them there was a ECU update and gave them the existing and replacement calibration ID numbers and said it could be found running a health check through TS. After it was ready they even said they added 40mph surging symptoms to the report so that Toyota would pay for it. I am blown away!!!

First impressions on the drive home were great. Much smoother acceleration after shifting with more throttle response. Smoother shifting in general especially noticeable from 1st to 2nd. Really does drive like a different truck. Wasn't sure believed all the hype but wow. Was considering OVT but for my needs...no reason.

Let me know if yall have questions.

I’m at the Toyota dealer now, getting a few things done today. I told them I also wanted the update.
The service manager drove my truck and I rode with him. He seemed unsure that there was a surge, but didn’t say whether or not they were going to do anything about it. We’ll see what happens...

Just got back from Toyota of Naperville for my 10k service and mentioned an ECU update. Told them I felt a surge between 1st and 2nd and there should be an update if they hook it up to TS. They did the update, albeit with a different TSB number than what I've seen here with no questions asked nor road test.

Happy to report the 1st to 2nd shift is much smoother, the bucking in low RPMs in nearly eliminated and driving is generally more pleasant. If anyone in the Chicagoland area needs it done, I suggest going here.

Anybody able to get a look at the docs for 125-18? Could be they got their poop in a group and put out a new TSB, that’s the highest 2018 TSB number I’ve seen mentioned anywhere.

Nice work. Thanks for posting all the pics.

Agreed. Hopefully someone has TIS access to pull it.

    Nice!

It is an improvement. They took out the AT words on the first page but it only lists the 2017 MT ECU on the third.

That should help folks get flashed though!

    Thanks for posting it.

So I dropped the truck off this morning for:
    -oil change
    -alignment
    -ac blower recall
    -squeaky clutch
    -ECU update

They just called and said that they’re finished. I asked if they’d taken care of everything on the list and she said yes they did. I didn’t specifically ask about the ECU update though.
On my way to the dealer to pick it up.

    :fingerscrossed:

I'm wondering about comparing the CUW files? Thoughts anyone?

That must be why they pushed mine through with no issues. Sweet!

That's the TSB that got my dealer to do it.

That TSB is closer. I wonder why it does not list 04b10/11?

At this point, we are lucky it shows 04b13 as a MT
