Washed the truck and detailed the interior for the first time in five months…right before it rains tomorrow. :rain:

Also rattle canned rust reformer and flat black on the bottom of the Hi-Lift real quick to stop the rusting and removed the TC stickers on the UCA's for a cleaner look. Might look into removing the stickers on the rear shocks as well.

Last thing I did today was unscrew the turn signal bulbs real quick to see how the headlights would look if I got LED turn signals and resistors. I like the white look so I might look into that.

About to give up on tuning this damn CB...I scraped off the paint on the ground last night and had SWR of 1.1 on all channels and tried mic checks but not sure if anyone heard me...tried scraping off the paint where the antenna mounts and now have SWR of about 10 :(

Not sure what else to do...

I'm confused why I get the same SWR on all channels no matter what I do.

Your post was actually in the back of my mind the entire time I've been working on this damn thing :anonymous:

Yeah I don't know what I'll do...probably take it to my local 4x4 shop and see if they could have any luck.

Well good luck. I learned a lot while the guy was troubleshooting my setup since he was explaining everything to me as he walked through it. My ground wire was ultimately what was screwing me up. I'm hoping that what I learned will translate to an easy CB install on the '84.

GoPro dash cam tests...first in 720p-60fps and second in 1080p-30fps. Also angled the camera better in the second one.

Super excited about having a GoPro :anonymous: Have always wanted one and it will be cool to use. Have the standard flat and curved adhesive (reuseable) mounts, as well as the suction cup and tube mounts.

You can click the little cog settings icon in the bottom right and select 1080 if the video doesn't show up in 1080p for you. Looks like they default to 360 when linked.

Just the entry level HERO...no reason I need to spend an extra $100+ for a camera purely because it has built in WiFi or some nonsense.

The only small downsides on the HERO is that it can't be removed from the housing (not a big deal) and the battery can't be removed (may just buy the next level up GoPro if this battery declines over time).

Well, reason i asked is...i had the opportunity to get a Hero 3 plus silver edition which is one step above the one you have. Figure its worth trying as an entry level go pro?

I think if you have the option/money to, the more advanced, the better. The HERO 4's even have the option to record in 4K resolution

I just didn't feel like spending an extra $80-170+ for the 3+ since the only upgrades I saw were the WiFi and the ability to remove batteries and housing...however, the 3+ also can record in 1080p-60, which is 30fps faster than mine.

    Up to you :)

Suction cup mount is nice. (it better be for $40 ) GoPro also has a great design for the quick screw pin to remove just the camera from all their different mounts without having to adjust tightness/etc from what you have setup.

I don't have anyway to view or edit 4k anyway lol

I was thinking 1080p at 30fps is the best i can handle

Looks good. I might have to look into it more no. The only real con i keep seeing with the hero3 is that they all seem to eat through batteries

Yeah I couldn't find anything detailing how long total my HERO battery will last, not just before it has to be charged. They apparently can get about 2.5 hours of continuous life before charging though.

I'm going to be dumping videos, charging, and probably using it for other things other than a dash cam anyway. It's easy to take the camera off the mount so it's not a big deal.

And yeah, I think 1080p-30fps is just fine for me too.

Rust reformed and painted all the other rusting spots on the Hi-Lift and ordered the next round of Fluid Film...probably going to wash and soap off current layer then reapply within the next month.

    Updated To-Do

    • Re-apply Fluid Film
    • Clean and re-grease UCA bushings
    • Crank coilovers up & get new alignment
    • Re-paint all skids
    • Touch up front & rear bumper paint
    • Touch up slider paint
    • Check torque of all suspension parts (Reference)
    • Check torque on all lugnuts (85ft/lb)
    • Clay bar and wax treatment
    • Order some new mods... :)

I believe mine is 3% or less, not that I'm worried about a few extra ft/lbs.
