Howdy gang, I finally sold my monster truck and got back to a 2 Toyota family. (My wife drives my old 4Runner) Having owned several 4 Runners in the past, I know the Tacoma will suit me well for daily driving, off road fun and our crappy Edmonton (Alberta Canada) winters.

I am looking forward to gaining some info from the group and making some new memories in my truck.

Nice to be welcomed guys, I'm happy to say I have travelled to both your towns in the past few years. I still have my Tar Heels shirt and Dicks Last Resort shirt in the closet!

You're not kidding. I had the Avalanche for 2 years, the transfer case just went, the "theft detterent device" $800.00 part malfunctioned etc...

I am not venturing from Toyota anymore.

I would have to say most domestic manufactures nowadays the quality is gone. I had a Fraud Ranger and had more problems with it than all of the Toys and Hondas put together (4 in all). Come to think of it (knock on wood) i've never had a problem with any of them! A friend has a 02 Dodge ram 2500 diesel and has had several problems with the tranny. Each time he takes it in to the dealer it's a new problem and the cheapest fix was $1500. He really wants a Tundra but it would be pushing it with his 5th wheel. Hopefully Toyota will release a diesel in the Tundra or Taco or even better both!:)

My 1st car was a dodge and that one vehicle was enough to send me overseas. The rest is Toyota history.
