I have a pair of tan seats from a base model 98 4runner roughly 200k miles on them. Drivers side has a sizeable tear and the foam is falling out. Plastic panels are there but 2 of the tabs are broken. Buckles have been removed as i needed them for my replacement seats. Feet have been modified (front foot bent to fit) to fit in a tacoma. I've used em for about 10k until I found sport seats to replace these. $60 located in the SeaTac area of WA

    Bump.

Price dropped to 60 bucks. Come get em so I don't have to throw them away, I live in a tiny studio and these are taking up a lot of real estate

You found Tacoma sport seats or T4R sports seats?

If the former… how in god’s name did you come across those unicorns?

T4R sport seats yes sir. I got them from my my coworker who used to be a Toyota technician. He was going to "upgrade" his yota pickup with them but didn't want to go through all the extra work since it was a reg cab with bench originally and nothing lined up for him

A little worn out but definitely an upgrade from what I removed

last question, I don’t want to derail your b/s/t thread…

Is the seat height comparable to stock Tacoma seats?

No worries, I'm the one selling em so it'll turn out no one will want to actually buy them

I'm not sure about that answer, when I bought the truck it had the bench seat and I was "upgrading" rigs from a clapped out 4R to a less clapped out tacoma. So since I already had the seats (the ones for sale) installing them was one of my first mods. They were a vast improvement over the bench seat and sat slightly higher. These sport seats sit at the exact same height as the base 4R seats

    Nice.

I’m picking up a set of T4R sport seats tomorrow. Can’t wait to install them in my 04.

I don’t mind if they sit slightly higher but don’t want them to be obnoxiously and uncomfortably high.

I have a set of WRX seats in my 98 and they sit a bit too high for me. When I was daily driving the 98 I eventually got used to them but if the T4R seats are closer to stock height I’d appreciate it.

Thanks for the input. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks, good luck with the install!

If you install em how I did and use a hammer to bend the front outside foot, the rear outside foot is about an 1 1/2 away from the stock hole. You can force it into place but then sliding it forward or reverse is a major bear. You can either make brackets like this or buy direct from him if he has any made.

I bought a set and promptly lost them, then re made my own in the same design and currently using them with the sport seats. Works perfectly

Already have a pair of his brackets on the way

Did you heat up the bracket before hammering it into shape/place?

or just go Conan The Barbarian on it?

If you don't find a taker for the complete seats, I think I can use the driver's left-side trim and recline lever.

I'm also curious... when I tried to smash the outside legs of my 4Runner buckets into place, the leg got some stress cracks at the bend. Did you get anything like that?

I'd happily part those pieces out to you, I doubt I'll sell these seats in the time frame I'd like and they're getting close to being thrown away lol

On my lunch break I'll go and check the seats for cracks.. I think I remember seeing some wrinkling in the metal but I don't believe it actually cracked

Sorry for the late response, got tied up at lunch so I just waited until I got home and share pictures of the actual feet for sale.

Some wrinkles but no all out cracks, maybe because I used a rubber mallet? Foots not wobbly either, still nice and tight20220322_184936.jpg 20220322_184947.jpg
