I created that thread so if you have questions you can ask me or ask here, this place is a decent place to go without being flamed (usually) :)

Well I did it... started the ball rolling for the SAS. He said they should get space in the shop for me in 6-8 weeks and it'll be done before I get home. Luckily, I'm here, I would be going crazy waiting for the weeks to go by at home lol

Is anyone in the market for ballistic joints for a 3 link? I'm switching out to heims. Within 2000 miles 4/6 of mine are blown. Ballistic has no idea why so they sent me a complete rebuild kit for all 6 joints but im going to swap to heims anyway. New everything was just about $600 for it all, ill sell it all for $150 and all you need to get is the link inserts from Ballistic. That price seem fair?

I'm going to be welding in some new shock hoops. I'm going to line up the top with the bottom using a plumbob but other than that I'm not sure what to account for, if anything. Any advice?

I eye balled evreything. I did alot of holding the shock up to the axle and in the wheel well, made some marks and started welding. I had a plumb Bob and never used it.

I'm also running leafs so that's a little more forgiving if your measurements are off.

I set mine at full bump and put my tower where I thought it would go then cycled it to make sure it didn't bind. But same thing on leafs and wanted to make sure the shock didn't hit anything when It traveled back. Think I went for straight up and down for the most part and now they are angled out to the sides because of the wider axle.

    Flame on:

Is the stocker 5VZFE steering pump strong enough for a dana 60 swap? There's a burned up TG high flow on a taco I just acquired, but I'm just trying to get it steering again, then I'll ask again for reviews on their newer powerflow...

Also what about a dodge dana 60 to tacoma driveshaft pinion flange (I want to saw it's a 30 spline...). All I can find are kingpin flanges from TG for the front diff. Trying to get the front shaft put together on this rig. They never got around to it.

Be careful going to heims on something that sees miles. They will wear quickly on both ends of your links and will actually start to slot out your mounting brackets from the lack of dampening a poly joint or bushing provides.

Line it up and burn it in, just make sure the body clears everything.

If your brakets slot out it's cuz your panzy ass didn't get the bolts tight enough. As far a wear goes it depends on what joint you get not all heims are created equal . I have yet to need to replace my FK forged heims and they have over 12K on them.[/QUOTE]

Well since December I’ve put 1500-2000 miles on it so in a year I’d say no more than 5,000 miles. I tow it most of the time to the trail, for the most part only time I drive is to snow wheeling

I ordered ruffstuff 1.25” heims so we’ll see :notsure:

Apparently you didn't read what Snowy said... Where did he say you didn't tighten them? he said the slop from the heims will cause excess wear and get into the mounting bolts because the lack of dampening. Nothing to do with "your pansy ass not tightening them enough".
