Nah, we're gonna skip it. I was a HUGE fan of the original trilogy, but I've just been too disappointed in what's come out since.

Getting back to Rogue One, I almost had to be forced to watch that one, and I was SO glad I did! If you haven't seen it, it's pretty much a 'must watch'. It really captures the spirit of the originals, the action and SE are awesome, I was actually pretty stunned with how good it really was.

Well of course I’ve seen it! I thought it was great how it gave back story and led right into A New Hope. If you like rogue one I would suggest seeing solo as it does the same thing. Fills in back story and has some cool action scenes. I honestly need to see it again to know if it’s REALLY good or just good, but I enjoyed it. Anything will be better than last Jedi so :annoyed: @StainlessSteelRatt

No you’re right by episode 1 I meant the first Star Wars aka a New Hope, sorry for the confusion. But yes the leia scene is a huge part of what ruined that movie for me. Grrrrr

Solo is a lot more like rogue One and nothing like last Jedi, which is a good thing

I have a tradition of taking my two oldest grandsons to anything and everything Star Wars. It's been like that for about the last 5 years. I'm not a SW s fan by any stretch but I enjoy taking them and I just watch each movie as an individual movie, I've given up trying to connect the dots. We're going tomorrow, I'm sure Ill get the debrief from the kids after the movie.

I have to disagree on the Leia thing, but agree on the whole movie being shite. She was (is?) a force user and that just demonstrated she had learned some of the abilities. Now Snoke not realizing Kylo Ren was aiming the lightsaber at him was kinda wtf.

Going to see Solo next weekend and will report back. Of all the new movies Rogue One is definitely my favorite. The Last Jedi wasn't what i expected it to be and The Force Awakens was a lot like a New Hope.

I agree with @Wyckedan. In the books they portray Leia having those kinds of force powers, but I would have left the whole floating in space scene out. At first Snoke is like the new emperor and then Kylo Ren plays him and wins. REALLY!!! Just like having Laura Derns character blowing up the first order destroyer. That should have been Admiral Ackbar and he would have gone out in style.

It should have been Leia. They would have solved the problem of what to do with Carrie Fisher passing, and they would have ended up with a bad ass female to take over command of the resistance.

Yeah, or they could have let Leia die in the space scene and then let Derns character take over for her. After that they could have brought Leia back as a force ghost if needed. This way Ackbar could have still blown up the ship :D.

I agree they should’ve let leia die, that was my biggest complaint with that movie. The cruiser flying through Snokes ship was one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a Star Wars movie gota give them that.

I agree that scene blowing up snokes ship was awesome, especially the no sound effect. They should have done more with Luke and Rey and training her on the island. I just felt there was a lot of Empire and ROTJ in the movie to the point that even my son said something to me. During the battle of Crait at the end my son said to me "that's like the battle on Hoth in Empire Strikes Back." Been a fan a long time and I was expecting something different.

Lemme know what you think, I definitely want to see it again because I did like it and probably missed some things. Not as amazing as Rogue One, but good

I tend to respectfully disagree otherwise the title of the movie would be different. But both are story lines in the movie.

I really liked it. Like Rogue One, it filled in a lot of backstory. I think they could have done a better job casting Han, but other than that it was really good.

Fantastic movie. Wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did.

Watch The Phantom Menace to get an idea of him

Hey bob thanks for chiming in, I know who Darth Maul is but I also know he was mcsliced in half in the phantom menace by obi wan. I was told and know from comics that he ended up surviving but we haven’t seen that in the movies yet. That leaves me wanting to know more
