    Guys,

As you know, Dupli-color doesn't make a Radiant Red touch up paint or rattle can color match paint for our Radiant Red Tacoma's and Tundra's. I know there are some companies that sell and make a $20-30 small can of paint, but I'm looking for something I might be able to buy off the shelf and pick up locally. I may need multiple cans.

What is there available that I can look into to find something that is the best off the shelf paint to match our Radiant Red (3L5) trucks.

    I found a Rust-oleum Radiant Red ATU 4009 but I can't find it locally.

    What is the solution?

UPDATED: radiant red = super red 2!

take the paint code to any autobody paint supply, and they can usually mix it and put into a spray can for you about $25

Also i've gotten a few off eBay they will ship as well

    * you may need clear coat to go with it

A lot of Napa stores will mix into pints, quarts and if equipped spray cans.

I have radiant red also. I used automotivetouchup.com. You can buy it in rattle cans, or pints, etc. Also their clear coat is pretty durable.

I have gotten 4 different colors [2 Toyota, one Ford, one Honda] from them and all the colors matched extremely well.

Hey man I'm in the same boat. My truck got fried this past year from the South Carolina sun! I need to repair several items. This includes my hood, mirrors, door handles, tailgate, roof, & possibly some custom touches like color matching bezel headlight retro fit and interior accent painting) I need several cans... and if I can't get them at the $6-8 range... I might as well just take it to a shop to get done. Shops don't like custom work. I'm really good at spray painting and making it look good. At $20-30 a for a small 8oz can, it isn't feasible and will cost more than taking it to a shop. If I take it to a shop, I have to get a rental car as well. Right now it is a lose lose situation.

Just get the whole truck done in red line-x and never worry about it again

DroidJunky: This is great info. I will try and follow up with this so we can get this issue solved for us Radiant Red owners and our fading paint once and for all. So many owners are struggling with our red trucks turning pink! lol

Go to a company that sells the Toyota paint in rattle cans with Toyota clear coat. Your DIY will turn out like shit if its not exact. Non-metallic reds and blacks are the worst colors for trying to touch up and match.
Depending on your project you may need to buff your current paint job to really match. Red is a hot color but oxidizes more than other colors.

Don't cut corners unless you really don't care how it turns out at the end of the day. Because anything but Toyota paint will not match.

Learn how to take care of red then. A dual action polisher and paint sealers/coatings need to be your best friend if you have red. Its not the paints fault.

Red, orange, and yellows show oxidation like crazy. You guys should be trying to buff before repainting panels. Much cheaper and likely will resolve the issue.

    3L5-Radiant Fire2.jpg
Researching the Chrysler PRB, R87 color code; it is called Radiant Fire for Duplicolor Perfect . The picture shows the comparison between Radiant Red and Radiant Fire. The radiant fire is just a bit brighter. To be honest, my truck is more of a radiant fire, from the sun fading, than the 3L5.

I would like to try different shades of primer (light grey or dark grey) to see if I can get radiant red to be not as bright and blend to a 3L5 a bit closer.

Sorry man... $70 plus shipping costs for a few cans of spray paint is not feasible. Another solution is needed...

I use Antomotivetouchup.com as well. Perfect match! All these mods were done with their spray cans.
