AWESOME! I am transforming my bed into that his weekend! You have just given me a lot of ideas! Thanks for the second battery details too. I have been wanting to do that for a while and now that I know how to do it, I think I will try and tackle it!

Thanks again for all the compliments everyone!

Sandman427 - I installed a marine battery. A regular car battery will work as well but marine batteries are more designed for applications like this (for example house batteries in RV's are marine batteries).

A car battery is designed to provide a very large amount of current for a short period of time. A deep cycle battery (marine battery) is designed to provide a steady amount of current over a long period of time.

A car battery typically has two ratings:
    • CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) - The number of amps that the battery can produce at 32 degrees F (0 degrees C) for 30 seconds
    • RC (Reserve Capacity) - The number of minutes that the battery can deliver 25 amps while keeping its voltage above 10.5 volts
Typically, a deep cycle battery will have two or three times the RC of a car battery, but will deliver one-half or three-quarters the CCAs. In addition, a deep cycle battery can withstand several hundred total discharge/recharge cycles, while a car battery is not designed to be totally discharged.

Make sure you add a relay or battery isolator so when the ignition is turned off the batteries are not connected or you would also drain your car battery.

I added some more info for the wiring on the picture:
    battery-1_1138bab76431afd15cb559f6a09a8e743551dde0.jpg

What is hard to see is that the relay has 2 big terminals and 2 small ones. The plus from the car battery goes to one big terminal. Then a wire from the other big terminal to the fuse box and finally from the fuse box to the plus on the second battery.

The wire that is hot when ignition is on goes to one of the small terminals and a ground wire to the second small terminal.

I would strongly recommend to also add an inline fuse close to the car battery.

If you guys have any questions let me know.

The Optima would definitely work. The one I installed is an Interstate Marine Deep Cycle Battery and that was quit a bit cheaper.

Thanks again everybody for the compliments!

Just4fununlimited - I don't have the Revteks but installed the Toytec Ultimate lift kit and I love the handling. The ride is stiffer but for me personally it rides better then original.

The tires are 285/70/17 and the rims are 17 x 9. I did have to do some cutting of the inside of the fenders because they were rubbing a bit.
