So my truck has a rattle either in the drivers door or the pillar holding the drivers seatbelt. Either way it is right next to my ear and driving me crazy. Can't pinnpoint it exactly. Anyone else had problem with a rattle in this area?

I thought I a rattle in there but it was my snow brush and little plastic shoveling rattling. Maybe yours is just that.

Only thing that moves over there is the seat belt mechanism, unless something from ceiling worked its way over there.

Hopefully nobody gives advice of "turn up radio" :D

I had a rattle like that when I took my doors apart to put in new speakers and then put them back together. Drove me crazy to the point I took the door apart again. It turned out it was one of those plastic fasteners that hold the door.

I would try to take off the cover to the door or pillar and see if its something that just fell off inside there if I were you.

I recently (like this weekend) located what I had rattling on my truck. It was the small metal bracket on the leaf spring that hold the Ebrake. I could not figure out what it was but I found it when I got it over the pit.

Not sure if you have a tonneau cover on your truck. But I had my tonneau rolled up against the back window this weekend and I noticed that it was squeaking and rattling against the rear glass. It took me forever to figure out what was making the noise...I was going crazy.

Is it a rattle, or more like to egg cartons being rubbed together?
Ive had that since day 1. Been to the shop with no luck. Next thing is the body shop will replace my weather strips.
Try and place your fingers where the top door frame meets the cab, and see if it stops.
The ist time they tried clear silicon spray to soften the gasket - didnt work
2nd time they used a thin layer of vasaline on the weather strip - worked for about 3 days.
Then they proceed to tell me that I need to put a liberal coat of vasaline on all the weather stripping. I told them to pound salt! I'm not about to carry a can of lube for a 30k truck around!
There are also guys that have had seat belt rubbing at the top, so check that too by moving the seat belt around as you drive.

OP , do you have in-channel visors , mine make the noise you describe in winter when the weatherstrip is cold and less pliable .

I have the same problem. I am trying to narrow it now.
I think mine is more of the egg carton.

I have the same problem. The sound on mine is coming from the window switch panel on the door. If I lean my knee on it, or hold it while I drive it doesn't do it anymore.

Either something is lose or it's just that small panel or something. I'm think of next weekend taking the panel off to look. I might put some dynomatt or some type of sound proof material to stop the rattle.

I had that exact same rattle, right beside my ear in the B-pillar. Went to the dealership last week and complained about it. The mechanic went for a drive with me and of course there was no rattle. Never fails. Needless to say i persisted about the noise and he went ahead and took the pillar off. Nothing seemed amiss, but i noticed on the back of the pillar where one of the white plastic pins stuck out the plastic housing that holds it in place was broken. Whether that was from the mechanic pulling it off or not, the noise has since went away. (he reinstalled it without the plastic pins) I'm still awaiting a brand new pillar from the dealer to replace the broken one, but i hope thats it for the rattle. BTW, the cost for a replacement pillar was $181.00 CDN. Lucky for me thats covered under warranty.

I had that same rattle near the pillar and found out it was the little plastic cover where the seat belt bolts to the bottom of the pillar.removed it and no more rattle.

Well it was the weatherstripping in the door that was squeaking and the dealership seemed to have fix it. :D

My noise sounded like two egg cartons being rubbed together. It was the weatherstripping that seals the driver door when its shut. Told the dealership last time I was in there for some warranty work and now it gone. Sounds like your jack or tire iron are loose in your underseat storage.
