I'm getting Fox C/O's soon and was wondering if I can fit 285/70/17's. I know you can fit them with a 3" lift but I'm planning on only going to 2.5". So does the extra .5" make that big a difference or would I just be better of going with 265/70/17?

Regardless if you have a 2.5" or 3" lift, your gonna have to trim some stuff.

I run a 285/70/16 on my truck with a 3" inch lift and I think I could have gone to 33x12.5. I am running TRXUS Super Swamper. 2 1/2 inches of lift should handle 285's

I'm aware that I would need to trim so am I just going to have to trim more than I would if I went with a 3"?
