i have a strange noise i have to sort out which i think is an inner tie rod issue (hopefully) or a steering rack issue (hope not). assuming i can figure that out, i will be heading into camp mid afternoon Friday 3-4pm?

if anyone wants to head in to camp around that time, i know the way.

more of a cross between groaning and popping when i turn to the passenger side. no sound when i turn back to middle or go driver side. you can feel the clicking/popping vibration on the inner tie rod with your hand as its moving.

thinking inner or outer tie rod, steering rack, or lower BJ. its more than just the coil creaking. i am gonna pull it apart tonite and investigate.

if its the inner or outer tie rods and i can push some grease into them and they dont have too much play, i will run them for the weekend. if its the rack or something else worse... thats no bueno.

I sometimes hear a groan when I turn to the passenger side but it's often after a joke. Maybe that's your problem.

Have a look at eccentric bushings and check the torque on the bolts - I heard some racks have loose bushings that end up having some play and possible noise.

^new Friday campsite coordinates for those going up tonight.

when we meet up Saturday morning we will split up into three groups from the Tim hortons. Technical group will leave first, middle group second and super newb group will leave last. We will have some time between each groups departure to spread ourselves out on the road and trail.

For Saturday night, we'll air up and head north and camp on the south side of Algonquin park; we will have a special friend waiting for us up there ( 45.41487, -78.80355 ).

    Has Anyone prerun the trails?

Im thinking id like to do the moderate run but curious what to expect.

Are there any videos anyone can link to see what were in for?

also are the factory recovery points okay?

tons of videos on YouTube. I haven't personally run these in a while. I was down there a couple weeks ago on greens mountain, but that was an entirely different animal. Assuming it will be moderate rocks and mud depending on the route you go.

Factory recovery points will be fine assuming we are talking about the rear hitch and the stock front weld hook up front.
