My head gasket R&R turned into what looks to be a cracked block/cylinder. I am looking for options for finding a used short block, long block, or engine (3RZ). I'm in Southern California.
    • I'm going to check the junkyard I saw a 4Runner in a few weeks ago, this morning.
    • Japanese used engines/parts(?)?
    • Toyota-only junkyards?
    • Other forums where members are doing major engine work, where a block might be found?
    • Other ideas?
On a side note: I'll be going back to driving my older junk, which is a '61 Comet with a propane-powered turbo 2.3 L.

EDIT: Any decent chances for saving this block? Cylinder #3 has what looks to be a ~3" crack that started from a pinhole. Sleeve the cylinder?

    Thanks,
    Kurt
