@SC2SC and I have been talking about a trip back to Southern California (where we're both from) to do some wheeling. Right now this is in it's VERY early stages so this thread is intended to be a place where we can begin to plan and gauge interest from others who may want to go.

No dates or timelines are set so everything is open to discussion!

The thoughts & ideas so far:
    • Put the trucks on a transport to San Diego to avoid the 5k mile roundtrip drive as both @SC2SC and I still have family there to receive them.
    • Drive to California and back to wheel along the way.
In an effort to begin route planning (subject to change of course), post up your "must see" and "want to wheel" places!

Sweet! This is something I have always wanted to do. Did plenty when I lived in SoCal.

Lemme get a few thoughts together...

Would be fun to drive to be able to see different areas and wheel there. Probably more $$$ to do that than shipping though

I've driven across country a couple times and there's a lot to see. The main difference was I drove with the destination in mind, not the trip itself, and that's why I'd consider driving. Could even mix it up...some ship, some drive, some ship there then drive back, etc.

Driving is an option- its 30 hrs of drive time each way.

Also the Gas Buddy app can help estimate gas costs.

I know it'll be roughly ~$1000 to ship one way

The drive is about 2500 miles or so, each way.

I would love to drive across country and back some day. Would need at least 2 maybe 3 weeks to be able to stop and smell the roses along the way? Love the idea, who knows if i could pull it off. Subd
