Leaking 3rd brake light. They already replaced that on Friday. Just noticed the stained headliner yesterday so I went in to complain...resulted in headliner being ordered.

I’m pretty disappointed in the build quality of the 3rd gens. Already had a carrier bearing failure, A pillar rattles, LCA whistles, rear diff howls, shitty tranny, no low torque, etc., etc.

Aside from the aesthetics and tech on the truck, I wish I’d never sold my 2nd gen.

The ecgs bushing install isn't that bad especially on a lift. Hardest part is getting the cv axle out imho. I'll have the puller and driver set with me so if you want to do it we're good to go.

My pride is a bit sore right now from getting my arse kicked by a simply rear shock swap Sunday night. That is likely playing into my recent reconsideration on the bushing.

As basic and simple as rear shocks are to replace, I’d never done it before. I just decided to try and throw them in on a whim by myself at 5pm. I like to think I’m mechanically incline so I figured I’d just winging it, no instructions and whatnot. Needless to say, it took me like 2.5hrs :anonymous:

The most important part of all that is you did it on your own. This weekend you will be surrounded by mechanically inclined people who have planned to help as their weekend fun. I did my bushing, assisted via text on another TW members and helped @BadgerBoy do his (a little he did most). Come prepared and make your decision when we meet up.
Edit: That wasn't supposed to sound like "don't let us down" I mean we are into this stuff and want to help each other learn it will be a good time!!

We live and learn it’s cool!!! Like @Mudfootshuffle said we can do it especially if your truck is already torn down, up to you. It feels great to do your own work but knowing how to do it don’t come in one day trust me took me 20 years. hell sometimes I still have to call upon my mechanic friend! We are there for you brother if you need the help , if I can help I will!! A bunch of great folks with far greater knowledge than me will be there trust me!!

There is 2 good shops but I think they will be closed at lunch time...

I don’t want to but may have to hold off on suspension because I don’t think I’ll have time or excess cash to do alignment...

I know I could but I really don’t want to ride on bad alignment.

    Thoughts?

I also know we have a shit ton to do so may just say we will get to me last and if we get there we get there, and if we don’t we don’t! I only live 25mins from @17tacostormtrooper so we could always do it another time.

To be honest, I don’t think it’s going to change enough for the aligenment to be off hardly at all!

Any recommended lubricant I should get to put in between the leafs for the AAL install? Hopefully something that autozone, o’reilly, etc might have?

Hell if I know lol, haven’t looked. The factory pack prolly has them. The HS AAL delivers today and I assumed they would not have any??

Just assumed some lube would be a good preventative measure.

The rear leaf silence I’ve been living with lately is golden compared to my old Dakar’s. Would love to preserve that if possible.

My thing is if you put lube in there your gonna get dirt then here comes the noises! Maybe someone else may say something different but I have some bearing grease that can be used in the bushing but I wouldn’t put anything anywhere else!

Having never done an AAL install, I’ve been trying to read up. Sounds like a lot of difficulty of the install is due to the tight space constraints when adding to the OEM park while still on the truck. That and having to remove a factory retainer clip.

Is it a really bad idea (as in harder/more work) to remove the OEM pack from the truck, then add the AAL, then reinstall the rebuilt pack?

I've never done an AAL from a stock leaf pack but from a Dakar pack it's not hard at all. Just trying to keep things lined up is a PITA
