    Thanks!

I have an RCI skid plate on the front. I'd like to know the answer to this too before I purchase.

Only a guess, but it says how many are in stock on the product page. Me thinks when it gets to zero, the discount goes away.

Looking to buy, but would like confirmation of fitment with the TRD skid plate. Any word if it will install without mod?

This bumper is sick! Such a great preservation of the OEM look with the capability to mount a winch and light bar.
It's a tough decision for me between this one and the C4 Fab right now... Both are ~equal in weight and have very similar functionality...
And then there's the California front license plate requirement... (things were easier when I lived on the East coast :)
We know there will be continued debate about the aluminum crash bar but realistically no one on the forum nor any vendor is going to crash test these bumpers so let's just take some chances knowing that the winch will save us more times than the stock aluminum crash bar will.

Funny you should say that. As the President of Southern Style OffRoad, I believe it is my personal duty to crash test our bumpers in real world situations. This is a joke of course, but both our full size GX bumper and slimline hybrid have recently been involved in collisions and held up fantastically. The gx was hit head on just yesterday while coming back from Ouray, CO and FJ Summit. She'll be out of commission for a while, but Im very pleased with how she held up considering what could have been.

This is how the slimline looked after a front end collision right over the shackle mount. The 1/8 face bent just a bit, but the structural aspect of the bumper still straight and true. This crashed occured at about 10mph.

Here is the poor GX after she was mercilessly attacked by a wild red Ford Explorer. The lady in the explorer attempted to miss the white dodge and plowed right into us as we were stopped to turn left. This collision also took place right on the shackle mount and you can tell how it deflected the energy out and away. This crash occurred at approximately 25-30mph at time of impact and no airbags deployed on any vehicle involved, as they shouldnt have in my opinion. Not terrible damage to the GX all things considering.

So, I hope you can see what I mean by making our products work first, and look good second. We all have loved ones to look after and none of us want to be stranded out in the wilderness either.

Good to see they held up well. Based on the actual crash testing do you think you will be changing any of the design to reduce damage during impact?

Well there is only so much we can do. 4,000 lbs moving at any speed is a lot of force to deal with, and if we try to stiffen the bumpers too much we risk injuring the other party which is not something I really want on my conscience. I like that it held its ground but also gave way enough to lessen the impact on both vehicles. THe crush sections of the frame still operated as they should so all in all Id say it did exactly as I'd hope. Also, please keep in mind that these are considered for off road use only. They arent repeatedly crash tested and rated as such. As is the case with any aftermarket bumpers, you would be responsible for any damages your truck inflicted upon any other party.

Sorry I wasn't trying to go that route...Was more of a proactive comment as most of us cause damage off-road in different scenarios. Where your situation is unique I was just curious what you saw from your perspective as the fabricator. I'm not a fabricator myself but know continuous improvement is always on the mind.

For instance on the 4Runner at a 10mph impact on the shackle mount, the 1/8" face slightly bent. Would you increase that face with 3/16" or 1/4" moving forward?
