Awww snap, these group buys are killing me... But I love it!

 

Will we recieve notification when our bunpers ship? I sent mine to my parents house and i cant see my mom unloading it from the fedex truck...would be nice for me to be there to deal with my rediculousness

Ordered on July 18th, but haven't heard anything in regard to shipping status. I'm in no hurry, but I'm also a fan of open communication.
Are these still in the process of being built? Do we have to reach a certain number of orders before they are shipped? Just wondering. Thanks!

 

Thanks for your inquiries. These bumpers are fabricated upon order. The number shown as "in stock" when ordering indicates the metal we have on hand. Each bumper has a variety of options, so that's why they are fabricated upon order. Typically they will ship out in 3-4 weeks or sooner by FedEx ground. A tracking number will be emailed to the address listed on the order.

Just curious if these are available minus the light bar hole? Also, I may have over looked it, but are these powder coated or painted? Thanks.

 

Yes and powdercoated. You can also order them unpainted. I usually get large shit unpainted since it may be scratched during shipping.

 

Thank you sir. Just curious what paint you would suggest if one were to paint it them self? I do off-road and know id need to touch it up time to time.

 

I actually know someone who powdercoats, so I am still going to have it powdercoated. if it does get scratched, i usually just use a some gloss rattle can and shoot the scratched parts. hopefully the bumper wont get that messed up, but the sliders def require tons of touch up. I forget what the paint can is called, all out currently.

 

We have used Rustoleum Truck Bed coating paint from Walmart on the owner's bumper

 

Yes they are available without a light hole. When ordering, select "none" under the lighting option. The bumpers are available powder coated or bare metal.

That's misleading - at best. I suggest making that very clear anywhere you use the words "in stock," as most people will get a very different idea.

 

Thank you for your opinion, but it is not within the capabilities of our system to list out every possible option combination and whether that particular model is actually in stock. We will add a line in the description to let potential buyers know that these are generally built to order and take 2-3 weeks to ship.

 

I totally get what you're saying. I mean as a customer, when I see "in stock," I automatically (and correctly, IMO) assume that the item will be in the mail within 2-3 days. In case of a bumper, I'd assume you've got all components (bumpers w/ various cut outs, separate loops, etc.) individually complete and ready for very quick assembly + shipment. I would never in a million years interpret "in stock" to mean "we have the materials."

I was faced with a similar issue when buying an ARB fridge + transit case + tie downs a month ago: only after submitting payment for "in stock" items did I find out that the transit case + tie downs were not actually in stock. Was told they'd ship in a week. After two weeks I was told it would be another month (and only because I made the effort to constantly check what was going on with my order - zero voluntary communication from the retailer).

As another poster said, it all boils down to communication, and more is better than less. The less surprises for the customer, the happier they'll be! The "built to order" line you mention should prove helpful.

Keep pumping these guys out, I'll likely be ordering one myself sometime down the line.

 

Well this was posted on July 11th

"Yeah so as Robbie mentioned, we did the final test fit and got the location of some side brackets to reinforce the plastic oem bumper. The jig is built and ready to produce, so we're only waiting on an order of material to arrive, but that could be a couple weeks out. Plus, FJ Summit is next week and we'll be out of town during that time. We could start taking some pre sales, but it was my intention to have these ready to ship before listing them on our website. Ya'll let me know what you'd like.

The group buy started the next week after that post. I was able to deduce that the community had asked for pre-sales and mine was still in material phase when I ordered it.
