The RS-25 made sense on the space shuttle when they were being reused, but at $40 million each to burn up on the SLS it doesn't. Space-x's Raptor supposedly runs only $1 million and is reused if they don't crash all the Starships.

I am curious to inquire what BO is doing to progress space exploration?

    $146m/ea .. 4 per SLS.

Yeah, every SLS launch is gonna toss a half billion worth of engines into the ocean. WHEE!

At least we don't have an MCN to deal with...yet.

Its based on a whole series of books, so the first season is kind of a slow burn. Worth it though.

    Nope. You can't do that.

The Expanse is about the closest to what I imagine what real space colonization would be like.

I’m waiting for crew returns to be soft landings like the booster. Then they will really be following the Starfire plot.

I have not been reading this thread for the past couple of weeks, so this may have already been mentioned...

NASA will be live firing the engines on the SLS on Saturday! Tentatively, around 4:00 PM.

I know, late and way over budget - nonetheless, here we are! I expect it to be streamed on NASA-TV as well as YouTube.

8 minutes of burn time. Here's hoping it all goes well...

Doh! Yes, thank you for the correction Jim. Been so much focus on Crew Dragon, my fingers auto piloted.
I’m not sure I’d be able to see much as I’m on the East side of the state and it’ll be splashing down in the Gulf of Mexico a little southwest of my location.

    Duh...
Just finished the article and saw it was on the GoM side...
Maybe Brady or Gronk will post some pics..

But then again, how cool is it for SpaceX to be planning out Crew-2, Crew-3 and Starship prototypes concurrently...
