A thread for one of, if not, the best sci fi series on TV.

That was one of the best television SciFi series I've seen. I really enjoyed it. I think it shifted to Prime for season 4.

One of those rare instances where the show comes close to the books.

I wish they would do a short on the Expanse story "Drive"

When I first started the series I didn't think I was going to like the generic Josh Hartnett but he started to grow on me. Amos had a nice arc, I didn't like him in the beginning but he's cool now.

It was tough for me to get through the first season. For some reason it wasn’t making sense and I didn’t see the connections esp with the UN storyline.

I watched most of it twice and am glad I did. S2&3 were top notch.

Really hope S5 doesn’t ‘stay put’ like they did in S4.

Drive is the story of the guy who came up with the drive system used by the spacecraft in The Expanse.

Lots of technical detail, stuff like the guy being unable to read his spacecraft gauges because the acceleration was distorting the shape of his eyeballs, making him unable to focus them.

SyFy offered it for free when The Expanse was on their network.

HERE is a link to the story.

It's short, only about 30 pages.

Is this different from the Epstein mini story that was in the show?

Series and movies can be done incredibly well. This one has been so far.
The books and side stories are awesome.
No, I am not saying the books are better or the show is better. You do you.
IF you enjoy the show, and enjoy reading, you probably will love the books. My 10 year old just started reading the books after watching the series, so far.
Epic wonderful, flawed human characters, and incredible politics/economics/scifi. I love it.

Subbed. I dig the show. Might have to recap a few favorite episodes before the new season drops.

On the advice of this thread I started the show. Currently on the first season episode 2. Let's see how this goes.
