I picked up a used 05++ TRD skid plate and had it powder coated black. The installer took it apart then put it together again.

When I installed it I noticed there is a big space where it meets the bumper. Does the skid plate supposed to use those two big spacers at the front of the plate, or is the lip of the skid pate supposed to be flush with the bumper?

Is the spacer to separate the front of the stock skid plate from the trd one?

It just looks odd, the instructions weren't clear if the spacer was for a tacoma or the other vehicle the skid plate fits. It doesn't seem to look like other tacomas with the skid plate have that bid a gap.
