The English (Britain) people consider eating spam a rubbish foods. Monty Python in his plays use the word- spam (spamming) when referring to unwanted e- mails. Which stands today for those e-mails.

Hawaii during WW2 Hawaii could not get fresh meat , fishing was closed during war time. The American soldiers were given SPAM for meat, share with the local people of Hawaii.

Hawaii used to be the largest consumer of SPAM , at 6 cans per person. 7 millions cans per year .today!

Today the island of Guam eats more SPAM per person then any where else in the world, at 16 per person. Fresh meat is too expensive for the locals.

South Korea during the Korean War the soldiers were given SPAM for meat. The few given and sold to the South Koreans was consider a luxury meat. Which is still consider SPAM a luxury
    cuisine!

SpAM is cooked in the can , label and ship out to rest of the world. Today the SPAM musubi is sold everywhere’s in Hawaii, even at gas stations!

Mac’Donalds in Hawaii serves a Spam & Egg w/ rice breakfast every morning before 10:00 am.

We also use to make SPAM sandwiches. Lettuce tomatoes and onions. So “ONO”. Ono in Hawaiian means “Delicious “

“OH NO” .. did I use the Hawaiian word for “ONO” for delicious here?

    Hmm, interesting.

Spiral staircases in medieval castles run clockwise. This is because all knights used to be right-handed. When an intruding army would climb the stairs, they would not be able to use their right hand, which was holding the sword, because of the difficulties of climbing the stairs. Left-handed knights would have had no trouble, except left-handed people could never become knights because they were assumed to be descendants of the devil.

August 13, 2022 We will celebrate the “ LEFT Handed day” I am left handed.
But prefer a right handlers glove playing baseball , as I grew up as a child. No one had a left handlers gloves.
Had to take off the glove to throw the ball.

I'm a leftie too, haa. That is, I write left handed.

I do everything else right handed. I can do most things either way, but favor my right hand.

I'm a leftie , but do alot of stuff with my right. Seems that things that require finesse , I do with my left , right hand is for strength. o_O

Same here. Left hand for precision stuff and right hand for strength stuff. Unless, it's using a mouse, the it's right hand.

But I love spam. Fresh from a can or re-cooked(?). I even saw somebody recommending to keep a can of spam in the car. It supposedly doesn't truly expire and most won't eat it uncooked voluntarily so it's great emergency food to have around.

You can buy a single slice of Spam at the grocery store now. I have a few on hand, just in case.

Same, never gave the mouse any thought before. I guess that's one thing that I can only do with my right, haha.

We keep a few cans of spam on hand for emergencies but will take it camping from time to time too. I like to chop it up real small and fry it until damn near burnt, then mix it in with scrambled eggs', easy to do over a fire and pretty tasty too.

Agreed, it is almost unbearable salty. I can't eat it unless I combine it with something else. They do make a low sodium version though; still pretty salty, but a lot better. That's what we buy.

    Southpaw and Spam lover From.Big.Island.
Fond memories growing up eating fried spam between 2 slices of soft white bread with mayo for our after school snacks.
Anybody from Hawaii knows when hurricane coming you load up on bottled water, TP, rice, saimin and of course as many of those little blue cans you can get your hands on!

Grilling spam a bit makes it decent on sandwiches. Straight out of the can is not for me.

I'm quite fond of Spam. Grilled Spam sounds interesting and something I'll have to try.
My favorite Spam dish lately is pan-seared Spam on a bed of cheese grits, topped with a couple over easy eggs.
