Spare radio wire ??

    I'm installing a new 7" GPS and I found a spare plug from the factory radio and have no idea what it is for. It's a 3 wire plug by it's self with a yellow, purple & white and a white & red.

    Would anyone know what it is used for? The adapter kit comes with 2 plugs not 3.

    01 SR: Double Cab conversion, S/C, lowered.
    That wiring color combination (with the exception of it being yellow / black instead of just plain yellow) matches the 2005+ leads to the steering wheel audio controls.

    None of my 2005+ wiring diagrams show an intermediate connector in that set of lines, though ....

    This color combo was specific to the steering wheel controls connection for both the base level and upgraded (JBL) OEM systems.
