Now flip that spare over so you can air it up without lowering it!

 

The local dealer covered it. I brought the truck in for that and the engine code. The carrier got fixed. The gas leak, not.

Well I bet it was because of me. When I called Toyota I gave them an earful and told them this will be an epidemic and another PR nightmare. They denied me, my dealer was the one who fixed it for free.

Thanks for the update. I recommend it for anyone in a wet snowy climate.

 

Nahh.... Your case is too recent.
It takes months of documented failures to get a recall rolling.
Accidents help a LOT, and injuries or fatalities are a fast-track, but it would not have worked through corporate and the Feds in 30 days.

The recall cites a number of accidents where the tire fell and hit a following vehicle. Corporate knew about this when you submitted your claim. Shame on them for denying it.
