    It's a Jerry can:mad:
I mean, it's really not the worst option? mount on passenger side with filler towards rear. Stop, siphon into OEM tank, cap and keep rolling. How long to siphon 15gal through the little hose?

Just spoke to Jesse about their tanks... (cool guy BTW)

He says their tanks can be used as aux or replacement but recommends as an aux. Says to mount in spare location and you can have an in-cab switch to pump fuel into OEM filler ("tee" added there) to re-fill your tank. Eezy peezy. He also provided link showing the whole deal when you have minute to read through...

I appreciate everyone replying to this thread,
Probably should have put it in the original thread but the intended use would be an auxiliary tank, with a fuel pump that is manually actuated. With a filler neck running up and punching through the side of the bed.

I'm going to dig into a few of the things that people have posted then it's probably time to start buying and fabricating

I had the same thing in my 95 f150. It was incredible and I want it again

Yeah, not something I wanna get into.
No need to integrate with OEM anything, I prefer to leave any and all OEM wiring untouched

    1. Separate filler neck, coming out of the bed side. Behind rear axel
2.no interest in connecting to OEM. I'm happy with a separate gauge.
    3. In tank pump, my set up would be powered from switch pros- again, don't touch OEM wiring.
4&5. Those are the difficult questions that I don't have answers to

I think the best route it completely separate from all OEM components, aside from where the fuel pumping into the OEM tank

See my post #53 for more on the Titan sidekick I have in my truck.

It’s a great idea to use an electric fuel pump with the outlet hose tapped into the top of the main filler line behind the fender, especially if you dont want to mess with fuel hoses, manual filling up and possible spills…

It is really fast using the Titan siphon hose to transfer gas to the main, and really painless. They provide you with a really thick bag to store the hose in when it is finished. That little one-way valve siphon starter thing on the end of the hose is really cool too, no more sucking gas!

if you really need a whole extra tank of gas it’s worth it over jerry cans, but if you only need 5 or so gallons stick with the cans- the only drawback to the Titan sidekick I’ve had is that it’s quite large in the bed and takes up quite a lot of room in a shortbed- with the fuel cap on, its almost as high as the rail. I have a MX shell so it doesn’t really matter because I can load things high, but a cab-hight shell would be more of a limit on space. But the plus side includes that thing is safe- really thick and it would stay put and not rupture in a rollover, it would be harder to steal, and it is large enough to almost double your range or feed your toys and give you extra for the truck when remote camping.

Could you have your license plate fold down and fill the aux tank through that opening? Saves having to cut up the bed…

The more I think about the Titan sidekick, the more I like it. Siphon is super reliable and I think I would carry it as a spare. But, A cheap electric fuel pump with a hose in the aux and the other end in the filler would be pretty simple, safe and quick. Again, siphon as a spare. 15 gal is a LOT and would work fine. I have a long bed and the sidekick would be not much of an issue. I also have a camper shell and have lots of room. For $300 +/- I think it's real attractive for something I would only need on occasion. I'm not going to do all my daily driving with all that extra gas waiting to be used. I'm thinking travel, emergencies, and off road trips only.

It was a nice discussion to flesh out here. Trucks today are just too complex to start hacking on and see what works. This is simple. Simple is good.

I think I'll shoot Jesse an email and get cracking on this. When I do install this and get it working, I'll post up a full w
I'd love to be able to use the titan tank side kick, but at least for me it wouldn't work, it has to be where the spare tire is. Can't put it inside my living space.
That being said I'm absolutely going to go buy one of those for my work trucks tomorrow lol

    ok .........get Ur measurements ready

then query SUMMITT Racing = get a fuel cell to fit the space

they are already approved to carry fuel & are relatively safe

plumb so that when U fill the reg tank........U fill the cell

no less the draw to the engine pumped by the OEM fuel pump

    read on the dash gauge

I keep a siphon like that in my snowmobile and sxs in case we run out of gas we can siphon it from another machine. They are pretty slick and take little space.
