    Nice job Colin! I'm planning something similar but without the tire carrier for a RTT. I really like the rear support legs, great thinking. The wife doesn't want the tent or the rack on her truck all the time so I want it to remove easily. I'll definitely be using some of your ideas.

    unfortunately, i don't have access to a first gen to build off of :(......however i do have more pictures :eek:

    loaded up the #2 full size spare for a wheeling trip this weekend. one of the many uses of a roof rack.

    Some really good ideas and work in here :thumbsup:

    Some not so good. I'm not going to pick them apart, but everyone putting a spare in the back needs to remember it should stay in place should you hit someone. The last thing you need is a tire flying towards the back of your head should someone pull out in front of you. A 80# tire had a shit ton of force applied to it in an accident.
