Spark plug came out but not the threads

Well after getting this taco back on the road the counter balance shaft chain broke. Punched a hole in the timing cover and bits and pieces in the oil pan. Anyone have a recommendation on a replacement engine? Anyone know about this place?

I know Jasper makes good reman engines with a good warranty.

 

I'd stay away from apr based on this: A warranty on an engine doesn't cover labor and shipping so I don't think it's a major selling point even if you do all your own work due to the time and money involved. Most of the online engine rebuilders have really poor reviews. Yotatech seems to be the most legitimate, but for $3k+ I'd try looking for a wrecked truck with a 2.7 - I got a babied 3.4 w/ 160k and all it's accessories and transmission for $1400. Either that or take the engine out and tear it down and have a reputable local builder put it back together or drop it off as-is you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself.

 

Agreed, the deals are out there. Hell I have a running spare 3rz and I paid 2k for the whole truck it came out of.
