Spark Plug changeout after 30K How do they look?

    White, debadged, Mudflaps removed, ICON 2.5 in front, 2.0 in rear, all 4 corners have reservoirs, Spidertrax wheel spacers all around, BAMF bolt on sliders, Avid lightbar, oem transmission cooler converted to power steering cooler, aftermarket transmission cooler eliminating all oem transmission cooler stuff, remote mounted spin on transmission fluid filter TrueTrac rear differential, rear diff housing vented and filtered into left side bed box, URD MAF calibrator, Volant intake scoop into oem airbox, second filter removed, airbox internals smoothed, blended and polished throttle body, NST intake manifold spacer, Wet Okolee set covers, WeatherTech Digital Fit mats, inexpensive JVC single DIN, Scangage, AVS Stepshield door sill protectors, Doug Thorley Long Tube Headers, URD Y pipe with O2 sims.
    Has anyone ever indexed their spark plugs using the index washers?

    If so, can you share the best electrode position for these engines?

    45k on my truck, bought it with 1 mile on it. Honestly haven't even thought about changing plugs, maybe at 50k. I heard the same thing about these new engines, plugs don't have to be changed as frequently as older engines. I pulled them during the summer and they still looked brand new.

    If you buy OEM replacement plugs from the dealer all 6 are gonna be Denso.

    changing out my plugs did not make a difference in gas mileage. and based on the condition of the plugs that i replaced it wasn't necessary. but, i had already bought the plugs so i went ahead and did so anyways. i think it was close to 35k when i swapped mine out.

    That 30K miles change for spark plug seems unnecessary based on all these nice looking plugs I keep seeing. I'll change mine at 60K.

    Toytec OME lift 885 coils and TSB add a leaf. Light Racing upper control arms. CBI Sliders w/ kickouts. 265 75 16 Duratracs. Toyota bed mat and weathertech digifits
    60k spark plug interval may be acceptable for densos. But all 3 of my ngks were out of tolerance (wore quicker) at 30k. It was less than 10 bucks for the plugs at the dealer. If you're getting 1 less mpg for 30 k miles, that's more than $200 in gas wasted.

    EDIT: Thought I'd include the calculation

    Assume $3/gal, 20 mpg initial mpg, 19 mpg with worn plugs

    ($3/gal)*(1gal/20miles)*(30k miles)=$4.5 k
    ($3/gal)*(1gal/19miles)*(30k miles)=$4.74 k

    And the difference grows if either your fuel price is greater or your initial mpg is lower (I normally only get around 18 split city and highway).

    Yeah.
    The emissions warranty requires that you change them at 30K.

    As far as NGK on one side and Denso on the other: engines move down an assembly line with a person working each side. Both Denso and NGK are suppliers, sometimes both sides don't have the same brand of parts.

    I put in some iridium plugs at 30K but I am so anal I will probably do it again at 60K even if I don't need to.
